I'm planning on burning through the remainder of my BS and was wondering what is the strategy of beating this while using 3 Black Mages? I know the drop rate of the kracken club is pretty low but worth the risk.

3 Black Mages, 1 BLM 1 RDM 1 Leech Job is usually what I used when I did it. Easy shit.
The strategy is you can bind/grav/sleep it, and by the time he builds any type of resistance he should be dead.
Have done it with rng/nin, blu/nin, rdm/blm and have done other runs with blms, anything works as long as you bring someone who can sleep/grav/bind.
Edit: well, anything that can do damage from a distance anyway.
dual rdm this all the time, is cake. seriously, our only loss ever was due to a 10 min disconnect by one of us. altho, drop rate leaves something to be desired, we are over 0/50 by now, i stopped counting at 50.
bind/grav/sleep as already mentioned, and it will be a piece of cake. Also, Drain every chance you get. It does like 200+ dmg.
I've been doing this RDM+2xBLM but I guess 3xBLM strat is pretty much the same.
Freeze > sleep 1 (or just bind/stun, whatever) > Burst > sleep 2 > rest till full MP and repeat. Very susceptible to bind, gravity and sleeps.
Not to put down Vigilia or anything but IMO freeze and burst are major wastes of mp. Blizzaga2 was doing about 3/5 of the damage that Freeze would do against him and with a much smaller mp need and re-cast timer it works a lot better. Same idea tho time your nukes then either bind or sleep then re-cast. Just keep SS and Blink up at all times in case he does get to close.
You're right it's better MP-wise.Originally Posted by Aragon of Odin
The two guys I go with prefer to use AMs for the first two rounds and then if it has HP left finish off with Blizzaga2/Drain (I'm the RDM in our setup, one guy is 75BLM with full merits, other is just 60BLM for missions/BCNMs atm but he's the taru so nvm). It doesn't matter what spells you use, halfway through you have to rest anyway. It's probably not more MP efficient per se but it's a foolproof procedure to follow and it's all good as long as it results in a dead Fe'e.
