how is it really so good that people think it is a glitch? rdm nukes and blm enfeebles will be resisted less, but for everything else, you'll have a b- skills to land all of the 0 enfeebles you get as scholar, and water 2.

The scroll for Deodorize says that SCH learns it at level 10, along with 15 for WHM and RDM. Can anyone confirm that their SCH learned Deodorize at exactly level 15? We may have a new item to put on the "known issues" thread under Adv Discussion.Originally Posted by Cairthenn
i can say for sure that SCH does not get it at lvl 10...
i just hit 10 SCH/WHM and it wasnt on my useable spell list, even though i have learnt the spell on WHM (which is lvl 40).
I got Deodorize at SCH15/WHM7.
I dinged 15 sch and had it in my spell book. Dont know if this a issue or not found out regen is 18 sch. O.o relly helps in dunes partys with that spell.
It's really not. It's decent in some situations and good enough to warrant use as a sub for some things but the sub is still situational. I think it will replace /blm for rdms as long as they don't need ES or Sleepga as Dark Arts Drain/Aspir will be a large boost as well as the small boost to elemental skill and nukes. It could be the new WHM sub for those WHMs who see the things it can bring, Light Arts for fast cast and -10% spell cost as well as Dark Arts Aspir/Drain. For BLM.. I don't really see any benefit now that I know it only raises it to B. The spells you lose outweigh the bonuses sometimes, like the loss of Stoneskin and Gravity or any na spells or enfeebles. Yay BLM enfeebles will land a little better but you lose all you enfeebles except BLM native Blind and Bind iirc.. I really have no clue why people think it's a glitch. It's really the only thing that makes the job actually viable for subbing as I don't think the Light/Dark Arts bonuses were enough to warrent some of the spells you lose, the additional boost to skills as well as the othe bonuses make it good enough though, imo.Originally Posted by kuronosan

My SCH hit 55 today and got Rapture and Ebullience, the Light/Dark Arts abilities that increase potency. I'm not sure where it was said, but I think some people were wondering if these spells would raise the tier of the spells being cast. Upon use, they do not change the spell list at all, (Example: Cure IV does not change to Cure V when using Rapture, it just stays Cure IV). Also, Rapture had no effect when used in conjunction with Protect III, slow/paralyze or weather buffs - by this I mean it did not even consume the buff. It did have an effect on Cures although I don't know any numbers. When I get to 58 I'll try it out with Stoneskin.
I went out to Saruta to try to test Ebullience, this is what I got:
Casted Bliz II on mandies 3 times: 308, 308, 308
Casted Bliz II + Ebullience on mandies 4 times: 369, 405, 369, 405
Ebullience seems to give a 20% damage increase although I didn't test it enxtensively. The 405's were just due to it being Iceday I'm pretty sure, and would account for the extra 10% increase. I did not have weather effect on.
I didn't test it on enfeebles or anything else yet.
Thank you,

Aside from the new JAs, could you find out if you have any higher tiers of clear mind at 55? I'm not impressed if 1 is the max we get really![]()
/BLM or WHM would give CM2 at least, which most people are going to be subbing anyways. RDM doesn't, but you're only missing out on MPh+3.Originally Posted by Lasareth
My guess is for most events endgame-related you're going to wind up on /WHM or /RDM just because of Stoneskin.
Hmm that's trueDon't really care about the +3 that much, more interested in the prospect that we might get cm3 sometime if we get cm2 by 55. If not then I can live.

At 55 it looks like I only have Clear Mind 1 under job traits.Originally Posted by Lasareth

I might have missed it, but has another tested the weather spells yet with obis? How much would a BLM gain from them in terms of MAB?
The really disappointing thing about LA/DA when subbed is it gives no benefits if you are above B skill. I was excited to sub scholar for more enfeebling skill for my rdm, even if it was only like 4-5 skill, and yet nothing ; ; Still excited about Regen 2 tho >.>
Your job traits won't say "Clear Mind IV" even if you have it, just "Clear Mind."Originally Posted by Kohanacat

Great! Finally some confirmation on these abilities. It does exactly as I hoped too. A 20% may not be a tier increase but it is very close and coupled with the ability to boost their magic (and magical accuracy) with weather bonuses, I definitely see that a SCH's nuking ability will be quite adequate. Now to see what power those Helix spells would have as SE said a SCH will be able to match the highest damage of a BLM spell every 15 mins or so (Helix + Modus Veritas?).Ebullience seems to give a 20% damage increase although I didn't test it enxtensively. The 405's were just due to it being Iceday I'm pretty sure, and would account for the extra 10% increase. I did not have weather effect on.
So far I really enjoy this job. Very same feeling than when I was leveling BLM. However, as some people said in this thread, nukes tend to be resisted easily if I'm leveling on IT++ mobs, and I'm 8/8 elemental merits from BLM though ><; Will need some serious Elemental Magic gear when I'll get 50+.
I'm curious to see what role SCH will have in merit pt, at best, it could have some uses in manaburn pt, but no use in melee burn... SE just needs to give us some more defining spells. I see no reason we don't have access to Zenith gear too (even BRD can use this...)
I wonder if these Helix spells will have some hiddens effets (lower defense, STR, etc)?
I dunno if magic skill merits are diffrent, but if they are anything like weapon merits, you're not actually 8/8 until level 60 so it will get a little better.Originally Posted by Hadibou
