Not sure if this was mentioned, but have you tried weather buffs on a BLM with sea obis?
Do the SCH spells act like single or double weather?

Has anyone tested weather spells in double weather zones? Would love to use triple thunder weather in the Aery

I imagine the weather spells simply overwrite whatever weather you were previously under - but it'd be easy enough to test with Obis and conflicting weathers via zone & spell.

suddenly Modus Veritas becomes a useful JA. I was thinking it would be useless since you got the same damage per spell in the end, but not stacking makes things difficult.

Mind if they ask how they don't stack? Is it like a regular enfeeble where the second gets no effect, like dia/bio where some overwrite others, or always the last spell cast?

Plus magic burst adding more initial damage, and as tests have shown, more DoT. Then throw in Modus Veritas FTW. lol.

I'm guessing that if you can't stack more than one Helix spell, 2 different SCHs won't be able to put two Helix spells on one mob either. Same as what happens with Poison/Dia/Bio.

Vylia, the WHM75, has level 3 barspells and was wearing no MBD gear. We did a few casts with the appropriate spells up, and it did 1 less damage every time (Anemohelix 23 --> 22). So they definately can be effected by resistances/barspells.
doesnt this prove that MDB has an effect, not barspells? with level 3 barspell merits, isnt that like +6 MDB?

i'm not saying that elemental resistance does/does not have an effect, just that this test doesnt prove it. if you have any tank friends, see if they have a set of elemental resistance armor, a whm and a brd and see if that has an effect.

Not necessarily, it could instead work like Bard songs. More testing is required.

I think they more mean that each SCH might be limited to one Helix spell. Similar as to how 2 BRD's can keep 4 songs up, but one BRD can only keep 2 songs up.

The reason you can have 2 requiems from different bards(If this is the case) Would be the result of them being different levels, the helix spells are a single status effect.

When koh casted a Helix on me it displayed as "Helix" in the status menu, not "Geohelix" Which leads me to believe it's probably limited to one per mob.(Anything else would be beyond overpowered anways :3)

Wouldn't be overpowered if its 1 per SCH.

BLM's isn't limited to one spell per mob, no matter the BLMes you have. A Helix spell do, what? slightly less damage/mp then a BLM do, so I wouldn't consider it overpowered in the least to limit it to 1/SCH, allowing 3SCH to keep 3 different up.

This doesn't really make any sence as debuffing and buffing generally follow very different rules. Pretty sure BRDs cannot stack Requiems, Theorondies, Elegies or any of their debuffs, no matter how many BRDs you have.

No, I know. But they used BRD as an example, and I assumed that's what they meant when they said "like BRD spells".

Don't know how else they would mean it, since Requiem and Elegy doesn't stack. Personally I'd compare it to DNC.

But how would it be any more overpowered than allowing two Black Mages to nuke a mob?

Certainly much less hate would be generated, but 0 hate is very unlikely. At any rate, SMN. ;/

We did try this a few levels ago, it was only a 10% increase, so single weather.

Have not tried stacking SCH weather with zone weather, but I'll let you know as soon as we do.

My apoligies, I didn't know this. I'll definately try repeat testing in the manner you described.

Since Helices are "greatly effected" by the weather, could you also test the opposing weather's effect? Like water weather on Pyrohelix, just curious to see how badly it would mess with it.

id say pyrohelice in ule(something) range sense its mostly double ice weather all the time could also test ice helice there as well with double weather. Also did i miss this or does MAB effect damage or not? (lvl 1 mobs /whm /rdm /blm same gear/day would show it with increasing damage if mab did effect it)
