Id imagine it'd do squat to help blu besides up healing skill for things like Magic Fruit and Healing breeze.

If the paralyze question is too random to test, why not just try testing it with Slow, which is considerably more static than paralyze. That might help solve the problem.

Try to have a sch/whm (or a rdm/sch maybe?) stick a Slow on somebody with LA up and then with DA and compare recasts (ideally a long recast).
Would answer the question of if there is a bonus besides the Skill bonuses.
Then again, that will be countered with the infamous 'but things are different in conflict'.
Any other (accurate) methods I am not aware of?
There have been rumors that elemental skill effects eyes on me, I will check it out this afternoon after faffy with darkarts.Originally Posted by Takiwaki

Resists are % chance. If you are maxed accuracy, you have about a 95% chance of a spell landing. Half accuracy, 50%. so that means, theoretically, you can spend your entire life casting a spell over and over, even with max accuracy, and never see one land. Realistically it will rarely, if ever, happen. But still possible.
Paralyze procs are IN FACT random. Yes, it is affected by MND, and you have better chances at para procs with higher MND. But there is never a guarantee of a specific number of procs. you can cast paralyze twice on the same mob, get 0 resists, and have two different numbers of paralyze procs.
THAT is why i said it was random.
Now a spell like Slow will have a static benefit. the same slow cast with the same MND on the same mob will have the same % slow effect.
Thats why I said para sucks at this kind of testing.
And like I said, if the JP guy had merits, the skill difference between a regular SCH with dark arts and a merited SCH with light arts won't see a major difference. One skill point is not noticeable in any regular party setting. You'd need hundreds of casts to get anywhere near a decent error margin.
So please, try playing a job before you jump on someone claiming you've "seen a JP website testing long ago." Paralyze has way too many variables to be used in any kind of useful comparison of land/proc rates.
So, in case it hasn't been corrected in the thread yet, Helix ticks are 10s/tick, and the first tick procs at 2 seconds after the helix spell lands on the mob, meaning you get the base damage x2 after only two seconds.
Pretty damn good stuff, imo, especially with weather+day procing 100% on helices without obis.
quick question, dont know if it has been tested, but do Corsair quick draws enhance helix effects or dmg?
Found out today we can't wear Nms Shield +1.

i have been wondering, do sch weather spells have any effects on avatar magic accuracy/potency when cast on the smn? i would be pretty suprised if they did, but the small chance that it could have a greater effect than just activating af2 could be promising for avatar mbs, and to a lesser extent, enfeebles.
I'm gonna go with no on the smn question. If this were true, any weather would have a double effect on the avatar since one is applied to the avatar and another would be applied to the smn which is linked to the avatar (which we know isnt the case)
! good question but seeing as it's not enfeebling magic I extremely doubt it. I'll give it a shot sometime.Originally Posted by Damane
Just noticed today, but in Campaign Accession Cures on NPCs when they're near the Fortification will heal it as well.

This may have already been cleared up, but I'm sure someone early on said SCH didn't get Gaiters. They do.

Are you saying thats possible without being invited to the party you are PLing? That's nice, means a SCH could potentially help curaga a tank party from outside the tank party.Originally Posted by Draggy
That's exactly what he's saying. Same concept as Cure4-gaing the NPCs in campaign. Nice application indeed.Originally Posted by Sess
