I think double weather bonus is +25%, so you were getting weather bonuses, but missing the day bonus possibly. That's my only guess(you can try while using an obi to see if you get +35%).

I haven't read all of this thread, but has it been found if double weather+weather spell gives triple?

It appears this is possible. We were fooling about with thunderstorm in Sar. Champaign (thundersday + thunder weather + thunderstorm), I was easily breaking 2400+ on Burst II with obi and sorcerer's pants. We still need some testing to see if this is indeed possible to create a quad weather effect (day + double weather + storm spell)

None the less, that is magnificent and gives a SCH/WHM (for defensive spells) a good place to be- in the BLM PT. Helixes are respectable, but being able to amplify it and the BLM nukes that well is even better.

Supposedly there was a 35% cap on weather/day bonus(double weather, day, and AF2 should give 40%). I don't have blm AF2 pants, so I never confirmed this. If it does apply, then "triple" weather is only useful on off-days. Some further testing is probably needed to see what multiplier triple weather gives(if it exists), and what multiplier "triple"+day+af2 pants caps at.

it's a lv0 mob but still, obviously that scholar on fafnir just doesn't have what it takes 'cause that means to me I'll be doing like freaking 160-170 eb'd helices to faf and shit, because I don't even have close to what I'll have even at 72 in terms of INT.

I did take off a point of INT and noticed no change in damage, so I don't know if there's a level difference based off of you and the monster, or if it's INT, or if I'm getting diminishing returns or whatever.

Can't wait for tomorrow, I'll get to throw on another ... 23 INT or so at all at once and that should prove for some interesting numbers (no yigit hands/feet, salvage eats my points).

Also, an interesting note for having scholar in tank parties:

Aquaveil sucks big time. I wouldn't waste a pty slot for TNK pty for SCH on the basis of Aqua...

Maybe get SCH in >>> Aquaveil >>> Drop the SCH lol

lol @ saying aquaveil sucks. Aqua is a very underrated spell, and great for fighting things that double/triple constantly since you can't really tell when the next triple rape is comiing.

Swapping SCH in for a bit for aquaveil isn't a bad idea at all, as a RDM I wish I had aquaveil2.

Aquaveil has its places it certainly isn't as useless as some spells but my point is i wouldn't trade Maxed Barspells/Shellra V/ Devotion/Regen 3 for Aquaveilra full time. It's /NOT/ that good in most situations.

SCH could replace SMN in tank pty if they use their charges on Stonskinra and Aquaveilra now that i think about it (since SMN SS is pretty lame)

From an earlier post, I believe it doesn't stack. Something along the lines of the helix appears as an icon that applied to all types (unlike Frost/Shock/etc).

Yeah it is slow levelling, thankfully I have a static to exp my SCH on. Everyone in the static is exp'ing a loljob, lolpld lolsmn lolsch lolpup - then we just pick up 2 of whatever is LFG. Recently I've just been 2 boxing a friend's 55 samurai, and the pup has a 75 RDM alt account, so it's very easy now that we have a party of 5 ready to go, and we've narrowed down to only needing 1 more person, which isn't a need when you thikn about it exp with 5 is fine . I expect at least level 60-62 for us all by new year.

Helices don't stack

Triple weather doesn't work (aka double weather + storm)
Double weather works (checked it again tonight 100%, guaranteed)

so basically a 75SCH gets +20% matk 100% of the time for helices and for nukes (nukes only if it's not lights/darksday)

I really can't say, that's a bad thing in the least. makes up for not being a damn black mage.

Also, I don't remember if I posted this before, but this is how helix damage takes place:

Initial Cast: dmg
2s after Initial Cast: dmg
12s after Initial Cast: dmg
22s after Initial Cast: dmg
etc

so that 12s thing was wrong, but kinda along the right track.

and I'm pretty sure my helices are only lasting 50seconds no matter what I do... I haven't really bothered watching it 100% of the time seeing as I'm fighting stupid damn birds, and I can't exactly test that on level zero mobs. Don't have a lot of time to go out to anything else, always busy doing something.

Yea, it's fun to do if the npcs are gathered together for it (and slap on Protect-ga/Shell-ga if they aren't damaged). Unfortantely, they aren't always gathered together or there being npcs to begin with. It gave me my highest at the level (I think 800 xp?) for Cure IV Accession about 6 npcs after that One-eye orc ran around.

An NPC defended/low player count battle (defensive dungeons are aces) is a Scholar wet dream. Necropolis/Crawler's are nice that way.

Oh, Scholar question- does Random Deal restore charges at all? I keep forgetting to Random Deal with my friend when I'm COR and he's SCH.

Ya offense campaign was basically all that I have been doing on sch between seeking. I was getting 600-900 a pop sometimes if it was a long one.

Something is strange with that however. I have Accension'd CureIV on 7 NPCs twice at one battle (Meri Mountains) and got 900 xp. Other times, I have Cure IV'd 9 people at once (for over 400) at places like W. Sarabaruto but got only 150xp. Why are there such disparities?
