I realize my Level 15 WHM subjob doesnt help with the case, but it'd be pretty stupid if SCH got Sneak and Invisible but not Deodorize, wouldn't it?

Either the Campaign scholars are special, or we'll have access to the teir4 nukes like the one I had was casting.

They can learn tier 3's according to scrolls right? Maybe they can boost them to tier 4 using Dark Arts or whatever that ability was.

    Re: Scholar Discussion attempt #2

My SCH is up to 44 atm, I just wanted to post some general info about the weather buffs and Accession.

I only have Sandstorm and Rainstorm so far, they cost 30 MP each, last for 2 minutes, and have a 2 minute recast.

Pretty much any spells seem to work with Accession, including Blink (so I assume Stoneskin, and Phalanx when /rdm will work as well) however Raise does not. Gathered a bunch of low level corpses outside windy and was pretty dissapointed when only 1 got up.

I'm not going to make any judgements about the job so far, although I'm a little surprised about the 2minute recast on the weather buffs.

    Thank you,
    Kohana^^

Does the spell name change?? A theory going around that using the rapture/ebullience with a spell would change it to the next tier. I.E. Thunder III with ebull would be Thunder IV when casted.

No, Accession/Manifestation don't change the name of the spell. Blink did not change to Blinkga for example, it just stayed as Blink but casted on everyone. Kind of like how Divine Veil does not make Erase into Erasega.

edit: i messed up the quote thingy somehow sorry

How's that, exactly? this person just said he wasn't getting a -ga effect. Also, that's what SE's description for the 40 strat is: Increase potency of next <white/black> magic spell.

That would be because Raise is a Healing spell, and it only makes buffs in to AoE spells I believe? As in, no Cure, and thus no Raise.

    Otherwise Raise is just special.

...........He was talking about the LEVEL FORTY JA.

It's the LE-VEL FIF-TY FIIIIVVVVEEE that makes (white: healing & enhancing, black: enfeebling) spells -Ga.

So how am I wrong about what I said? About how it's obvious he wouldn't get a -ga effect out of the level 40 JA?

Well, do other Campaign NPCs cast higher tiers? Like a BLM casting a tier V nuke or tier IV AoE, or a BLM or RDM casting an enfeeblega (besides Diaga/Sleepga, duh).

Allow me to translate what I meant.

First of all, I most certainly did NOT mean "let me go use a mage sub in exp instead of /NIN." What I meant was, in situations where I would probably be /WHM anyway (certain solo tasks, or COR/WHM), gee, it would be nice to get a 300 HP Real Stoneskin instead of a crappy 100 HP /mage stoneskin.

Therefore, this is the correct answer:

    Re: Scholar Discussion attempt #2

even if they did get stoneskin, it seems light arts is only a 10% boost to you base skill level (not including merits)

    so a 101skill + 10% = 111skill vs the 104 enhancing you could get from /whm

I'm sorry but this is wrong. The level forty Strategems (Accession and Manifestation) make spells into "ga" types.

The level 55 JA increase potency.

My SCH is level 44, I can show you if you like..

I think I saw in a previous post that /SCH using arts bumps the corresponding magic skills to a B rating.

    Re: Scholar Discussion attempt #2

That doesn't account for the B rating found at fan fest ('course, we're missing other stuff as well, but anyway.) It's probable Light/Dark Arts' skill bonus increases at certain levels, so it will be less powerful when subbed and at its most powerful as a 75 Scholar.

So what you're saying to me is, they got the names right, but the order wrong on the 2nd list, instead of the reverse, which is what I thought.

    Re: Scholar Discussion attempt #2

No, it was a post from the day WotG went online. Someone using a level 10 SCH sub said that magic skills were increased to a B rating. Think he specifically mentioned WHMs having 250+ elemental/dark/enfeebling with Dark Arts active.

Of course he could have just been lieing I guess.

    Re: Scholar Discussion attempt #2

I thought that was a glitch, why would a job that normally has 0 points in a skill suddenly be given a B ranking when even Scholar starts with all Ds and that guy JUST said it was based on a percentage?
