come on, you guys couldn't of expected more than what SE showed at the fanfest. I knew the expansion was going to have an empty feeling because SE talked more about what their going to be added in the first patch in 2008 than what was actually being released in a few days.

Didn't we have right before ToA release a chart with a timeline of all the updates that would follow the expansion, they had the dates (aprox) for adding new missions, assaults, events, chocobo racing, etc.

What have we gotten like that now? Nothing besides the "looking into some job changes".

Planning and production indeed seem quite sub par this time. We at least deserve better info on what to expect about this expansion (looking in the future months).

How hard is it to reskin and remob existing zones for use in a new expansion?
I'm sure SE (the corporation, not necessarily the dev team) would rather ship out an unfinished expansion before the holiday season than ship a finished one after it, especially when they can just patch in all the unfinished stuff in January anyway.

I'm not really disappointed at all, so far anyway. I think it was slightly unrealistic to expect alot of content right off the bat anyway.

I like the setting and the story seems interesting for now, at least. It may be somewhat empty, but that just means more potential for later IMO.

(and if you think this is empty, CoP must have been barren to you when it first came out)

Well you're right to think there are only 2 handfulls of people working on any given expansion at a time. I wouldn't doubt it because SE is considered a medium sized video game company. Its not actually a large one like EA or Activision or Blizzard so i'm always impressed with the amount of content they are able to put together with so few people in staff. In the industry these days, most medium sized studios have been forced out of business and there is only large or small sucessful ones, very few in between sized companies.

I'm sure it will get better though starting next patch. The biggest concern they had was weather or not they could get campaign to work correctly i'm sure.

To anyone bitching about walking around, just get some allied notes. Then look for a C.A. (Campaign Arbiter). Will teleport you to any zone that you've been to for a small fee in notes. I'm flying all over the place.

I think the Sprinter's Boots are interesting. :/ Any movement speed boots that stays on after zoning, after taking them off and lasts an hour is okay by me. I think it's a way of SE admitting that running everywhere sucks... but why didn't they just fix that. :/

I think it's nice so far...I mean give people time to get the game before adding all the good stuff.

I personally think people expected too much from the release of WoTG(judging from what people are saying). People will be calling for SE's head in 1-2weeks after the "new effect" wears off.

    Re: Little disappointing?

Honestly, I'm very disappointed. Part of it is that they went live with what I'm guessing is about 10% of the planned content active. But it's like they realized how disappointed everyone was with the easiness of ToAU, but the only ways they knew to make this one more challenging was to give us intentionally misleading maps, have all the NPCs give ridiculously sparse instructions (Eg, "Give these rations to some guy in North Gustaberg!"), and make you wander around endlessly without chocobos, teleports, OPs, or any other conveniences.

haven't even gotten WoTG yet so I can't say, though from what people are saying, I'm already not expecting too much.

    Re: Little disappointing?

Biggest disappointment so far: Walking for half an hour to find a wall was placed for no reason other than to make the zone more of a time sink.

Coolest thing so far: Movement Speed +12% that stacks with cuisses. (Even though I haven't walked to Windy to get these yet)

Expansion does feel very half finished, makes me think that maybe they really didn't have 3 hours or w/e to spare to kill AV.

My only complaint with this is Im unable to get Allied Notes besides the 480 I recieved for my first Campaign Ops. I got the Allied Tag equivalent or whatever from where the Signet person usually is in Windy Waters, went out into Sarutabaruta and killed about 6-10 EPs and didn't recieve any AN.

Allied tag doesn't give you allied notes, Sigil does. Did you get green signet or did you get that besieged icon?

Way to blow it completely out of proportion.

The quest giver in bastok gives you a specific Tower name, and a specific NPC to talk to, and then that one gives you directions on the next one, and the next one is the only one that was somewhat vague.

I love that people bring up this little item like it was such a sign of great planning on S-E's part - they must have forgotten how much of that was pushed back or not even implemented (hi there, Colosseum).

Can't say I didn't expect this to be similar to what it is now, but I'm sure things will turn around and everyone will get out of toau merit areas. Well I really hope so.

Pixies sound cool. Would be even better if ther build hate if you kill them. Which would result in them not raising you, or curing mobs you're fightind.

Green signet. I don't know how to / have never recieved the Besieged icon, and I've talked to every single NPC in Windy Waters at least twice.
