I don't even have the expansion yet (go go slow delivery) but I can't log onto the game or POL without getting 0011'd repeatedly. Takes about 10-20 mins of bashing retry every time I want to log a mule. Anyone else having this issue and any tips how to fix it or do I just have to wait until the registration rush calms down and hope the servers return to normal?

posted this in another thread, and not sure if it was posted yet, but if you hook it right up to your modem(if you're using a router) seems to help. I spammed retry for 2 hours, then got it first try when I hook it up directly

I actually managed to get through most of the screens in about an hour, but after I put in my reg code, it went to the POL error and after hitting retry a few times it put me back at the expansion selection screen. So, I kept on hitting back and logged onto FFXI installed it all but Cavernous Maw in BD still says nothing happens. So I'm confused as to if I registered it or not

I really dont see how the router can be preventing the problem or changing the ip address. YAY....wait....booo...I got to input my code and as soon as I hit submit. I get the gay error again. /sigh /fume!

It's a good thing. It means you've managed to continue just a bit.

Just keep trying. I had to try a couple of times, but I managed to finally register.

Does POL perhaps use IE to handle the underlying connection and just display the results in it's own window?

I have two systems. Old Win2k and a newer WinXP. The WinXP system constantly failed. I finally thought to try the other system and got in and registered with some minor fights with a couple POL-errors. Backed out and tried checking my registration codes as a test. Worked fine. Backed out and ordered a new CD-Key (which I'd been meaning to do for my mule account for ages). Again no problems. The Win2K system just plain works every time when I try to use the registration server. The WinXP system never works.

Both are behind the same firewall/router. Both are configured similarly; ie. I tried to configure them identically, but there are likely differences I've since forgotten. The real difference is that the 2k has been around a looooong time and been through a lot of upgrades. It has a working IE6 from the pre-firefox era. The XP system has IE7. Both only see IE used for Windows Update these days, but after zero problems with the 2k system and just plain never working on XP, I started to wonder.

Since I'm up and running fine now, my motivation for further investigation has zeroed. Maybe this story will help someone else out, though.

XP sys errors: POL-2054 at every attempt to access the registration server.
2k sys errors: POL-2054 (once), POL-1362, POL-1341. Retry cleared the 13xx errors.

2054 punts you back a few screens -- can't retry that one.

POL-1154 Has anyone seen this error? I've just switched from PS2 to PS3.

I haven't had any problems downloading or installing. Since I can't register any of the content
atm, I decided to start updating. At about 98% I get this error with:

D:Image/ffxi/sound/ps2/music/data/music183.bgm

I have reinstalled the viewer twice and checked files.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :D

I'm currently formatting the HDD in the hopes that a total reinstallation may fix it.
