Drop Rates

i remember reading somewhere it was like a 2% drop rate on the mobs. Im wondering wtf is SE thinking they are really droping the ball here.

Just a note... there are plenty of Fierce Smilodons in Vunkerl Islet. I've gone something like 8/100 on them, was a decent farming spot before the price bottomed out, could farm nonstop as 75NIN/THF with the occasional Sprite passing by to Cure V me

When I got my Gnoll Claw we had a THF with TH4 and the drops really weren't all that terrible. Mind you, we had a whole party when we did it, and we actually had two claws in the treasure pool on at least one occasion.

I've gotten a couple mauls off the ones in Grauberg, but no hides at all.

1/2 on Smilodon Hide in Batallia.
0/40+ on Gnole Claw in Batallia w/ TH3 so either they don't drop it or the rate is so low as to be a waste of time. I'll take my BLM for a spin on the Jugner ones but then I have TH0. :[

After yesterday's maintenance went 2/10 on smilodin hides and then 4/20ish on lynx hides. Had TH3 for all but the first 5 smilodin kills (none of which dropped).

Claws:0/50+ on Decrepid gnoles with TH subbed, 1/6 on gnoles in batalia with TH IV, 1/2 on gnoles in vunkerl with THIV, 1/36 on gnoles in vunkerl with TH subbed.

1/39 for Gnole Claw off Batallia gnoles, no TH.

I solo'd Gnoles in Batallia on my BLM.  Over a course of 3-4 days, totalling around 7hrs... 0 drops!  I decided that I was frustrated enough to haul myself all the way thorough Vunkrel Inlet and kill the Decrepit Gnoles.  So, I traveled to the zone, looked around, remembered the fun along the way to the maw, then decided that my current frustration level was elevated enough to not waste anymore time.  I ended up warping and said screw this.  I'm aware you can use Allied notes to warp to maws but by this time, I was done with farming these.  I haven't been back since.  Could I buy it off the AH?  Easily.  Should I?  In my opinion, I shouldn't be forced to do so.  This shouldn't be a drop that makes you pull your hair out considering it's part of the first mission of a new expansion with new mobs in new areas.  This should be a little more obtainable.

There were a few good things about the whole experience.  The 21 Kindred Seals and 14 Beastman Seals obtained.  Recapped BLM experience.  Received another merit.

1/1 on jeuno AH, 25k. Then I went outside, killed a smilodon and sold the hide 20k

I'm about 1/120 on gnoles altogether. 90~ gnoles in Batallia downs, got my claw there, and 30~ gnoles in Jugner forest, where I had no luck there. I had TH subbed for the last 15, but other then that I had no TH.

Edit: Fuck gnoles on a full moon. They're enough of a pain in the ass to solo without healing for 4K.
