    Explorer's Guide

So, I don't know how many of you are taking the time to wander around the new zones, but once I get the expansion(Tomorow maybe... I hope...), I intend to try to see the beauty these new areas have. But I'm not a fan of death. Then again, who is? I digress...

I realize there are seperate area and monster threads, but can anyone provide just a short list of what aggros in what area? I'm a level 75 Summoner, so I'll probably be sneak/invising around, but it'd be nice to know what is true sound/sight and magic aggro, and what I can safely walk around.

    Thank you.

haven't seen any magic aggro so far maybe standing up gnoles. If it agros in old zones it agros in new zones to same.

crawling gnomes are sight, not sure what standing are they might even be true sight/ sound. I had invis on and got agroed. Other than that if it looks scary or new just sneak invis to be safe

Can a gnole that was crawling all of a sudden stand up? Or are they like euvhis, and if its crawling it'll stay crawling, and if its standing it'll stay standing?

    Re: Explorer's Guide

You can avoid alot of aggro just running wide circles around mobs in most areas. Running around with sneak and invis every second is silly. There are a couple places where it saves trouble, but for the most part you can probably run anywhere without having to worry too much about getting aggro. As far as mobs go, I'm really not too sure. Quadavs are still sound, Yags/Orcs are still sight, anything that looked scary I sneak/invis'd by so I can't really help you there. D:!

Is it possible Gnoles detect by scent? I'd imagine a humanoid-dog thing would have a good sense of smell.

I ran by them with just invisible on and had no aggro trouble.

I ran from Rolanberry to Bastok with only Sneak once through Grauberg (uphill+bushes+inability to see properly where the quads may be, better safe than sorry) and using my sprinter's shoes I trained the bottom of pashow marshlands without being touched.

I'm thinking of running with Carby, but I heard some of the new Mandys pull the 'follow you but not attack' trick, and Carby seems to love to attack anything that follows me...

Would this be a good idea? Where are the Mandys located?

Well the new mandragora are a good deal weaker in level than most of the other stuff you'll find right outside of the maws around jeuno, so a decently leveled summoner won't have too much trouble if it auto attacks, but I'm not so sure they will. Goldfish in sea have a target on a player that you can see by using /assist, but I ran around 3 or 4 times getting the mandragora to follow me and they didn't show any target when I used /assist on them.

    Standing gnoles aggro sound.

Pixies are true sight/sound if your in the red. They'll turn around and Cure V you as soon as you come into range.

Not really. I was fighting a Campaign mob solo next to one. It would Cure IV me when I got into the orange/red area, then it would wait about 15 seconds or more between another cure... Needless to say, I died (monk type mob that was probably IT equivalent is not good to solo). Stupid pixie ran away on me, though, before I could see if it would cast raise on me.

I was finishing the 3rd bastok quest and exiting the cave with only invis on the normal quads aggroed me. They were only EP so I started to engage them but link after link cause the Flee but to pop.

Strange cause I passed them in other areas without sneak and I was fine.

    Aren't turtles always sneak?

The EP range at 75 falls across the divide between aggro and non aggro, so even the same mob in the same zone, if they're EP, some will aggro and some won't.

Quadav, Antica, and Sahagin are the only beastmen that aggro sound (unless you count frogs).
