    Alliangence Change Warning

Don't talk to people by the counters in other S cities. One of them went like "So you want to join the Cobras? Welcome to the Cobras" w/o any sort of prompt. >.> There may have been a promt after that but I force DCed myself as I didn't want to change. So word of warning: Don't talk to other people. lol

    Re: Alliangence Change Warning

I had the same thing happen. I started with Bastok and then I was just being friendly with the NPCs in Windurst! I continued through the conversation with the NPC but it never said anything about having to quit Bastok or anything... so is there really a problem with signing up for more than one city?

I haven't had a chance to get back to Bastok yet to see if they'll still talk to me.

I dunno. Whenever I talked to sandy people they always seemed to frown down on joining another group so.. I don't want to ruin that. >.>

Does anyone remember the names of the NPCs we should avoid? Hoping to have the expansion in a couple hours and I don't want to ruin my future Bastok affiliation. :D

I just went to Bastok and everything seems fine, even though I accidentally joined Windy as well. The NPCs still like me and I still have 1 Op Credit (from yesterday).

I just finished the initial Windy quest, and the mithra gave me an option there whether I wanted to join or not.

Having joined Bastok already, I refused.

    Re: Alliangence Change Warning

I did all the Windurst quests last night. Then I went to Bastok and did the first quest there, and at the end it signed me up for Bastok (without giving me any confirmation whether I wanted to or not).

When I went back to Windurst I had to pay 300 notes in order to change allegiance again.

I posted this one mission thread, but Sandy one DOES NOT give you an option after you finish the quest i lost 300 AN and if i had any medals I'd have lost my best two + i lost my ops tag for the day because i switched back to windy.

    Re: Alliangence Change Warning

    Anyone encounter this:

A friend of mine made allegiance with Sandy to get the boots easy, he then started the quest with Windy to join the cobras (the putty). In between getting the putting and finishing the quest, he'd gone to Bastok and traded in his letter. When coming back, and finishing the quest, the NPC wouldn't talk to him and told him to gtfo. I don't know much about the expansion since I only got it yesterday, but is this normal? Any way to counteract it?

Did either of you accept a letter of recommendation for the nations your were and were not forced to join? I accidentally accepted the Bastok Allegiance quest and it apparently won't let me ignore this one to do the second and third Bastok quests. I'd rather not lose 6k AN for this.

    Re: Alliegance Change Warning

I joined Sandy initially and was chatting up NPCs everywhere else for quest purposes. The Cobras NPC didn't even give me a choice (but not quite as bad as US recruiters ) but I talked to her immediately again and she gave me the option to drop the quest. After that it wasn't in my quest log.

The Bastok dude was much nicer-- he went through the whole spiel but then asked me if I wanted to join.

In either case, I had only ever picked up the red letter in Garlaige, and never accepted or even talked to someone in either of the two starting zones until after I had joined Sandy.

Anyway, my impression is that even if you get roped into it by one of the recruiters, you always have the option to quit as long as you don't do the quest.

    Re: Alliangence Change Warning

Seems they fixed it? I initially joined Windurst, but when I went to Sandy and Bastok yesterday the guy at the counter asked me if I wanted to join before even giving me the quest.

Meh, I've finished that prompt before after joining San d'Oria. All that happens is that the Windurst recruitment npc gives you the starter quest to join Windurst. You don't actually leave your nation and join another without completing the quest. Talking to her again allowed you to drop the quest too.

Do you lose your notes when you change your allegiance?

    Re: Alliangence Change Warning

I did all Sandoria quests (yay free Deathstone/Angelstone!) then I went to Bastok as I wanted to switch allegiance (I've always been a Bastoker). I couldn't join Fourth Division at first - but I could after completing the first quest (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/The_Fighting_Fourth). My allied notes haven't been erased - but I don't even know how to check my current allegiance. I assume it's Bastok as I can do all Campaign Ops from Bastok now.

Or maybe you can join ALL 3 nations' teams?

And btw - when you drop you "sandorian" shoes you won't get "bastokan" ones - so don't try to drop them, as you won't get another pair!
