I was having no luck then I remembered if you are using a router you have less chance of gettign through. I unpluged PC from router and and went straight off modem and worked first time.

Well now, after 6 hrs, I got fed up and gave my info to a friend. And she got the job done in... 4 mins (she's in Cali as well ironically).

My advice to you all is to give your info to a trusted friend that had no registration problems.

11 hours and nothing, not even the first page. My friend in NA went back into his to see if he could access and first try, right in. (EU / NA Client - can't register for me)

I get pissed every time they fuck something up and then say this, I know they mean to be polite but a) We don't have a choice as far as cooperation goes, it's that or quit the game, and b) I think it's rather bitchy of them to assume I'm understanding. The only thing I understand is that there's absolutely no reason this shit needs to be going down. I waited two days from the initial release date to get this because they fucked up, now I get to wait how many more until registration is working properly?

Yeah, the only "understanding" between me and SE is that they can fuck me six ways from from Sunday and I have no choice but to take it.

And you know, a good company would offer free service for a month to affected people, or at the very least a discount for the days we can't play. I know there's no way of telling who is trying to register so that would be impossible, but there has to be some form of compensation they could offer. If my cable goes down, I don't have to pay for each day it's down. If FFXI goes down, I get to stick my thumbs up my ass.

I figure this is worth mention, alot of my LSmates were having this problem and my girlfriend couldnt get the PC version to register so I offered to login off the PS2 and spam it for her, and it went through registration first time.

This was followed up by doing it for another person having the same problem, also got it the first time, PS2s seem to have less latency, as a friend of ours got several people through this way as well, so if you have somebody you trust enough its worth a shot having them register for you off a PS2.

10 hours later, I gave up. I got fed up and started yelling at a GM telling them to start telling IT to learn how to do their jobs. Hi, maybe rebooting the reg server might help fucktards.

You know, I wasn't around for Burning Crusade, but with 8 million people spamming THEIR registration server, did WoW fucking crash and burn when everyone tried to get online? How about Guild Wars with their last expansion, they have 3 million users... they didn't go down. SE, with what, MAYBE 1 million CHARACTERS that regularly play (which was what, 500,000 accounts) can't fucking work it out? Oh and thats just assuming everyone bought the expansion, which we all know didn't happen because you still find people without ToAU....

I'm just amazed that this can fucking happen... I'm amazed that they can sit there and say that they KNOW there is a problem, and are "trying to fix it". That, to me, means there are a few guys standing around some dusty terminal with coffee saying "duhhhh I dunno, maybe if we do this!" Fuck off, fix your shit. We pay you money every month to play your fucking game. How about you return the favor with some decent fucking service?

There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for this to have happened.
