    Curious for blu spells, what is their bite move with the black animation called, and does it have any add effects?

    You mean Death Scissors? No add effects, it just does ridiculous damage for the level you get it at.

    Never seen it, then again I don't fight Gnats all that often.

    So I tried to tank some in Campaign today, got hit with Pandemic Nip which did about ~150 dmg, and gave me a Dia effect that removed 20 DEF (I have like 225 base so ~10%? maybe) They also have Insipid Nip, but I never got hit with that, just Bombilation (TP Reset) and Cimicine Discharge (really strong slow)

    So Gnats were evidentially added to FFXI for the sole purpose of becoming the most pain-in-the-ass mob family in the game?

    they're completely avoidable, I'd consider chigoes, tauri, soulflayers, etc more annoying.

    So what does it look like BLU will be getting? (Based on .dats and stuff.) An "ooze" attack (slugs), Asuran Claws (gnoles), a "breeze" skill (pixies), a "nip" attack (gnats), Spiral Spin (ladybugs), Seedspray (rafflesia), something from peistes, and Penumbral Impact (djinns)? Wonder if they ever add a wivre spell.

    I basically meant just in combat. I hope there's no Mission BC with Gnats in it. But yeah, I guess you are right that at least their aggro conditions aren't retarded.

    Re: New TP Moves

    Sorry if these have been mentioned already;

    Alpha Gnole Anders has a "Nox Blast" move - think its a knock back - 302 dmg no shadows up
    Cacophony - Didn't catch the damage but was a WS
    Shadoweye Gnats use: Cimicine Discharge - AoE slow move - which is annoying as hell
    Bombilation - TP reduce 0.

    Re: New TP Moves

    I was duoing EM-T Gnats with a MNK/NIN in Fort K-N.

    Pile on the debuffs and DoTs, and they fold pretty easily. With Sigil, a T Gnat gave 99 exp on a kill to a duo, but it took quite a while.

    Re: New TP Moves

    I'll have to pay attention closer the next campaign with Gnats, but one of their TP moves also reduces one of your stats, or maybe it's just a random stat. At any rate I was tanking one on PLD, it used a move that did damage and also did CHR Down, however I did not pay attention to the name (Wasn't very many people at that one :s Yay for Gnats and Steelhides at the same time).
