I'm with you on the merge lane, but anyone defending driving excessively over the speed limit would fall in the category of things that piss me off. I'm with pohibaba on this one. Stop driving like idiots people, so cliche, but your life isn't the only one you are endangering. Want to get somewhere on time? Leave earlier. If it's a true emergency, put on your hazards and do what you gotta do, but driving like morons just to get to work on time, or get home to play ffxi is how people die for stupid reasons...

Sorry, but just hits home, my cousin is in a wheelchair and has been since he was 7. His mom and sister died in the crash, his life ruined, and it wasn't their fault, someone was just driving like a freaking moron. Take a step back and think about how any stupid little mistake on the road could result in serious injury or death.

My trip from work <-> home is 45mins; it's not because I want to get there on time, it's not that I dont leave earlly enough (I can show up any time I want, but I have to stay 8 hours regardless), it's that I want to spend less time on the road; on a good day (or at 2:00am) I can get that time down to 25mins.

The sooner I get to work, means the sooner I can leave work, means the more time I have to do the rest of my stuff at home/else where. If I can cut down two trips to 25mins, thats 40minutes gained on something else. My time spent outside of work is precious, and if that extra time has me paying a $120 ticket every year, so be it.

Why the hell would I want to waste my time in a car?
