Question about Maint and Kings..

I've heard and recalled someone mentioning this before but has it ever happened with a King ever spawning after a server comes up?

I was told it's like a very low low looooooow % chance of it happening but I can't recall if anyone has ever seen it happen.

I think the rule is after a reset its recognized as a day 3 spawn. So they can pop after maint, but very rare.

Allright, I'd heard of people reporting an HQ after a maint so I wasn't sure. Also one thing that gets me is how were people able to figure out that the server maints reset kings to day 3?

Yea kings don't pop on server up. I'm fairly certain there is no "Server up is equal to xxx hrs/day." Each NM has their own rule for popping after a maint. NQ 21-24 hr NMs for RoZ NMs opens up on server up, King chance starts the day after. CoP 21hr NMs open up 21 hours after server up. CoP Wyrms need at least 24 hours after server up before they can pop. And ToA NMs need at least 12 hours before they can pop.

Yeah, I've personally never seen a HQ pop after maint. I was just going by the 3 day rule for all HNMs. That data sounds on point to me Listen to Kirschy

king is semi rare pop on day 4, about the same pop rate as day after maintenance. kings have never popped on maintenance, kings have never popped on day 3

I have personally seen KB and Aspid up on server up on the same day. That was a huge rarity. Seen KB twice in all and Aspid twice in all. I have also seen Nid up on server up once. This was some time ago tho so unless they changed it, yes they can spawn on server up but don't count on it as it is incredibly rare.

I have my problems to believe that... Anyway, on Diabolos there was never a HQ pop after a maint, at least not since 2005.

Kinda similar to what I thought I had seen. As I remember, Aspid and KB were up on the same day, right after maintenance. That's the only time I've ever seen it happen though, but this was almost 2 years ago, so I can't be sure my memory serves me right. I could only put this down to some sort of partial maintenance where a server "reset", wasn't required.

With the above exception, it's a pretty well known fact that kings don't pop on a D3 (Server Reset = D3).

This is my understanding of how the "HNM" work. A Maintenance is considered "Day 3" for RoZ Kings, so 24hrs after a patch is when a king can make its 1st attempt at popping. Oh ya, just because people can log in, doesn't mean that's when the server is up. The servers could have been restarted at any time, just SE let is on at a certain time. Also, if a King pops in a zone, this does not make the window similar to another king. All mobs in each zone have a different pop cycle.

My server this month had 2/3 HQ King spawns day-of-maintenance. I camped them myself.

Can you prove otherwise instead of backseat modding? Some people have said they've seen it and some have said that it's not possible for the chance for an HQ is very very rare.

I usually take a lotof what Aurik says on his word but this isn't the 1st time I've heard of a King spawning right when a server comes up after a maint.
