hmm. I don't find Steel Resolve III that difficult and my PC is on the slow side. You can get two to three of the first group (don't even try for the fourth, that totally skrews up everyone afterwards) and after that you should have enough time for the rest. Although you really have to know your crystals. Usually I fail Steel Resolve III because I'm too fast and hit the crystal before the person is really standing, after that everything goes wacky.

Yeah I had that problem with Fire repeatedly because it's first in the list. With everyone else, the "scroll time" slowed me down enough that I didn't go too soon.

Deep Cover probably takes more time than is worth it, though. I've been meaning to look into this as well.
Deep Cover does take time, but you can finish 1.66 times every attempt. Translating to every 3 times you do Deep Cover, you get 2 for free.

It seems Slaughterhouse & Hawk Eye are the easiest. Can you even fail those if you have an idea how to do them. The hardest part is having a non-Dungeon area under Beastmen Control

this picture helped made steel resolve a lot easier for me. i'm still failing Deep Cover III [S] though.

edit: woot-just beat Deep Cover III [S]. i went to Jugner Forest [S] to take pics of the Orchish Champion, Dragon-something, and Bowshooter (on a look-out thingy) near the crystal. before i would just have the mob slept and walk up to it as close as possible and take pics. i was 1/3 on successful pictures. only the Dragon-something guy came out right-i guess i was lucky. the last 2 shots i engaged the mob and walked towards it as close as it would let me (still engaged). then i took a shot, slept it, and tele'd out of there. i went 2/2 successful shots on the Champion and the Bowshooter, which i had failed earlier today. hope that helps.

    Re: Campaign Ops Discussion

Did all 3 deep covers over the weekend. Just went to Castle O, slept the mobs right by the gate (Brd, Smn, Sam, Nin, Whm) got nice and close and snapped a pic. Every image got me the 'good blah blah rule of thirds' options.

    3 more done

Now I need to go back through this thread and my lists to take some out since I just copied the wiki initially and there were some that were some last update that didn't get a II or III correct?

Are you able to use your previous plates for future deep covers?

EDIT: what i mean is, if i use 3 of the 5 for one deep cover, and end up using the extra 2 as spares, can i use the 2 spare for another deep cover op?

Short story even shorter, don't do it there, you'll waste credits.
I did Slaughterhouse on two characters there. There are two ??? spots, I was only able to use one of them to complete the quest. I did Hawk Eye with the other one, I am not sure if you can do Hawk Eye on the ??? that I did Slaughterhouse on.
Tried it 3 more times in 3 other zones. Failed it every time.

The bomb dropped, then after about 10 seconds depopped and gave me the "nothing out of the ordinary" message.

No one else since the 2 people I mentioned in my original post have run into any problems doing this. Either there's something I don't know, or the mission is bugged.

I drop the bomb, walk about 15' away and wait. Same thing plenty of others have done, and completed. Only difference is for me it fails.

    Sucks.
Just had this exact same problem, done the same as I always done perhaps theres a percentage chance of failure? A Campaign did start just after I planted the bomb could that be a factor?
Likewise. I had thought it was bugged, talked to a GM about it, GM gave me the runaround, saying there were a lot of factors involved (as in, "The GM is too lazy to check up on this shit and doesn't want to bother writing up a bug report"), but one thing got me thinking...

How well guarded were the fortifications (which is usually where the ??? sits) when you set the bomb, only to see it fail? There were a ton of Campaign mobs around the ??? when I failed my run, which might explain a bit.

    Yup. Nice, ain't it?

To clarify: you get five plates for Deep Cover. You only need to use three. What I tend to do is take three shots, run to the NPC, turn them in (if possible), and if there's one that's not to her liking, I go back out and take another shot maybe two. If she takes the last shot, I either have a spare blank plate or an unused shot of a Quadav.

Now here's the nice part. You know how your NPC might say something like, "While your efforts are greatly appreciated, it is my understanding that we are seeking to obtain surveillance of slightly more...important Quadav." or I was led to believe that you were a highly decorated hero. Surely you would consider it best to meet the demands laid forth by your superiors." or something along those lines?

Well, because she usually says these for Deep Cover III, what I do is save those unwanted shots because they're probably still good, and turn them in for Deep Cover II where the requirements aren't so strict. You lose out on a bit of XP, but you're recycling shots that would have otherwise been tossed out and better yet, you're ending up with even more free blank plates.

    Re: Campaign Ops Discussion

    Thats great!

Usually what i did to get some exp on my lowly bst was streetsweeper, but i decided to do all ops to clear em in log.

Stumbled on Deep cover III which ends up giving me more then streetsweeper and seems to be much easier for me.

Read on the wiki that the Jugner/Passhow/Meriph as well as bstman forts work fine as long as you get up in thier faces.

I go on my whm pretty much naked with a lightstaff (hq and i have merits in enfeebling) teleported to jugner, and repose orcs (about 4 different types within 10 feet of telepoint) and take a pic right in front. Repeat until i have the pics, then warp, change to my 57 blm (hah! i got bored right at the correct time to stop leveling!), and retrace back and hand em in after a quick job change for 350xp :nikkei:

    Re: Campaign Ops Discussion

Crimson Domino III - 350 exp / 1000 AN just need to do some walking around in a zone, raises area supplies by some amount
Deep Cover III - 350 exp / 1000 AN Take pictures of high level mobs, possible on high level job then Job Change to desired recepient, unknown effect on campaign

Depends on my mood, but I usually prefer to keep areas that I frequent stocked in supplies.

    Edit: CD3 to 'some amount'

I'm pretty sure Crimson Domino III raises the supplies by 3 (CDI: 1, CDII: 2, CDIII: 3). I usually spam CDIII in Vunkerl Inlet. Great AN, short run, and the supplies when lost are in a really easy spot to pick up.

I was able to complete Granite Rose II and Brave Dawn II a long time ago. But otherwise I am 50/53 and missing the same ones as you.

Telling your survery NPC that you want "Troop Conditioning" should help trigger Brave Dawn missions, but there might be other factors like Morale/Prosperity/Resources.
Down to the last six OPs myself, anyone else have any success at flagging em?

I spam Materiel Storm III. It's quick and easy if you keep the meds in your dbox and gives 340/980.

I spam this one as well. Its quick and easy, and gives a good exp/an ratio. Great for lower level jobs looking for some quick exp/buffer.

Where is this easy spot to pick them up at? OtherWiki says F-9 but that's the spot for Kocco's earring quest.

I tired this one once and ran over half the zone and still wasn't able to find the lost supplies. I too would like to know where they can be found.

The supplies are in that tiny section jutting East in F-6, it almost touches G-6. It's a small cave with a single bat in it. The bat will aggro to 75 (it's EP i believe, maybe DC), but since you can pick up the supplies without dropping Sneak there's no real risk.

Thank you for the info. Figures it's always in the place you didn't look at, I spent an hour last night too tabbing around the zone. Will give this another try later today. :D
