I'm pretty sure he's mentioned at some point, I can't recall who, but some tarutaru mentions they are going kick him off his throne in their usual cute dialect.

[quote:180w2g4y]Hmm? What else has Excenmille done? I hadn't heard of him until the Ballista quest, and yeah I don't even remember the Windurst NPC for that quest.
For thing he's mentioned in Elmer's translations. Believe he is also mention in the diary in Southern San d'Oria.

I've noticing a few things. A nation West to Windurst or the Middle Lands is named Ulbuka. This may be the Far West. Additionally, there is Olzhirya which appears be the Mithran empire.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the Near East references how it relates to summoning. The two Windurstian NPCs shown to be summoning either Celestial Avatars or Light Spirits. are Gariri(the Magnificent) and Lutete. Both mention Near Eastern tomes. Gariri saying how he was able to reach the "Other Side" and Lutete saying how difficult studying them has been. This leads me to believe that summoning as we know it came from the Near East. I also theorize that Karaha-Baruha uses these tomes in his story but seeks out a superior method which leads to his mastery over Fenrir. This can also make a lot of sense on how the Yagudo(and Kindred) have been able to have such mastery over summoning magic. Yagudo from having strong relations with the Far East and the Kindred coming from the "Other Side" to begin with.

I believe this summoning is from the Oldumm civilization which was a Kuluu settlement.

Finally, I have previously theorize that avatar realms are the actual stars we see. I now say that Atomos is the comet itself. And on that note, the white feather we hold is from the wings of Altana.[/quote:180w2g4y]
Fuck you BRP and your theory stuff that are 100% the same as mine. (Don't forgot Tonberries who are Kuluu themselves, and Lamiae are in the Near East. And of course Fomor SMNs are all Taru's.)

Also, for all you necro/geomancer fans, the Far West seems to have to do a lot with dead people (the exorcists from the Dark Lillies, Totem Pole) and the Far South occassionally mentions spirits of the earth (Igqira protects against "evil spirits" and is only equippable by our resident elemental mage, Tsahyan Mask).

    Re: WotG Storyline Discussion (Spoilers)

Summoning comes from the Far East, not the near. It's the same continent, but the Near-East specifically refers to the Empire of Aht Urhgan (well, half of it. The other capital city who's name has yet to be mentioned is further east and at the forefront of the War with Tenzen's home)

Speaking of which, we'll likely be seeing him again with the next expansion (most likely) sending us there now that peace talks are in motion between the Eastern Empires.

Question. There are 5 terrestrial avatars right? Carby, Fenrir, Diabolos, Bahamut, and who? And where has everyone gotten the idea that Atomos is in this expansion? Just speculation?

    Phoenix is the fifth.
Edit to answer second question: It was stated in one of the trailers for WotG that someone questions his existence. "Could it be... Atomos...?" The thoughts are also coming from the fact that Cavernous Maws look exactly like Atomos has in previous Final Fantasy games.

The Tengu are also from the Far East, so it fits nicely. But, one could assume the Olduum likely covered the entire Aradjiah continent, so while the Near East was able to unlock the secrets of Alexander, perhaps the Far East was able to learn of other avatars and methods, which would become the art of summoning as we know it today. Though, they still have their wacky methods too- just look at Phoenix.

It's a Crawler's Nest NPC, the one who gives the Windy recommendation letter to be precise. So even if they don't know about the SL proper, there's at least a name circulating about.

Not sure- but if there's anyone who would know for sure at this point, she would.

I think "the bandaged taru" might end up being Cait Sith in disguised, though his speech says otherwise.

CoP has a turncoat SAM, ToAU had a turncoat NIN.... so WotG must have a turncoat MNK.

The speech pattern doesn't necessarily have to mean it is Shantotto, the npc who does the fenrir and tuning in/out quests talks in the same style.

Didn't scream Shantotto to me, and it's a little more subtle than Shantotto seems to be.

Next update needs to get here soon, want moar story time nao.

Well, that makes for some interesting speculating.

It is rumored that her ability to muster such a large number of soldiers from the Olzhiryan Continent could be attributed less to the influence of the leopard coloring on her cheeks, and more to some unknown intention from within the Empire of Aht Urhgan--a nation that holds sovereignty over Haja's native Zhwa, yet has officially adopted a neutral stance towards the Crystal War.

    Re: WotG Storyline Discussion (Spoilers)

Naja Zhwan leads a Zhwan army to Al'Zhabi. Naja decided that the corruption sucked, and started her own mercenary company. The Immortals accused Naja of inciting civil strife and stripped Zhwa of autonomy and threatened to obliterate the royal family. Namsheria II reduced the sentence of the royal family to a suspension of power and recognized Salaheem's Sentinels as an official mercenary company. Naja gets disowned by her family and starts to go by Naja Salaheem.

Naja Zhwan, Haja Zhwan. Could be sisters, cousins, they are at least related. It is the last name of the Royal Family.

The manslave is useful for more than just rank ups and sit-up demonstration after all. (or Aht Urghan Whitegate dialog lines 05419-05424 and 05428-05437 )

Naja has no spots, so cousin's/other relation is a more likey story.

Also, was that part of aht urgan I just haven't gotten to yet? (I don't care about spoilers, i logged into my LS one day discussing the plot because they thought no one was on )

    Re: WotG Storyline Discussion (Spoilers)

Naja doesen't seem to be that old. And Nashmeira wasn't even born at the time of the crystal war.
But when you do the "Soothing Waters" quest in Whitegate, you learn that the homeland of the Mithra is a vasall state of the Aht Urghan Empire. So letting countless mercenarys employ to the Windurstrian army, could be a way for Aht Urghan to get a foot in the door in the middle lands. The Middle Land nations try to do the same to the Near East in the ToAU storyline btw.

they actually give his name in one of the cutscenes (I think "The Tigress Strikes" or the mission CS immediately after for people on the windy track) I'll see if I can find it.

iirc, he's the head war warlock in charge of windurstian defense currently and the star sybil clearly recognizes him as him implying that it is probably not shantotto.

there's some rumors floating around the misc. npcs that he was "born" with the bandages on, which also implies they've known about him for some time (clearly not brand new to the scene, since they speak with familiarity.)
