After talking to the NPC's in Karugo, they definitely say Shantotto is there, but not that she is/may be Rokbel.
Still a neat theory, though I wonder why she didn't nail the yags with Stone instead of Ultima.
Maybe she was using higher tier spells to remain incognito?
Just something that was bugging me; it's Robel-Akbel.
No k in the first name.
And I must be missing something here... I just rewatched the Tigress Strikes CSs, and Robel-Akbel doesn't even use Shantotto's speech patterns (the pair of rhyming lines).Originally Posted by Toksyuryel

Galco-Ralico : Knowing Minister Shantotto, the very fact that she has returned must mean that the situation does not bode well... Ah! This was supposed to be a secretaru!
And that's SE's typo of "Minster" in the first line, not mine.
Watch it turn out that the Shantotto that has returned is from the present, and that unit of volunteer soldiers is us.

Hmmm, just my own thoughts here, and not sure if they have been posted already (didn't get a chance to read the enitre thread) but for the Odin/Raogrimm thing, as well as just Odin in general, is anyone remembering that at the end of ToAU, the two portals, namely where Alexander is defeated and the one where Einherjar takes place(forgot the name cause i haven't really done anything in there). They said they weren't destroyed and had a similarity to the Crystals where you fight the avatars iirc.
Don't know if there is a connection between those and possibly the past, but you never know...
Also for the mines thing, wasn't General Zazarg the one who lead a contigent through the mines to beat face the Quadav? Don't remember exactly when/how that happened but I know its part of his backstory from the ToAU quests.
And also for the maw's, anyone else notice that they look exactly like Atomos does from other FF's? They're might be a connection there for Cait Sith, since there is the tid-bit about the "metallic" voice and the idea of Cait Sith being a puppet, specially since in the trailer for WoTG, near the end you see Cait Sith and a PLD looking at the twisted looking thing in the sky, so maybe Cait Sith being controlled by Atomos? >.>
Zazarg is going to get a medal at the battle of Xarcabard

Was just stating something I had noticed.
If you don't believe me and would like examples, you can take a look at these two clips from FFIX.
CS with Atomos being summoned.
Game Play clip of Atomos being summoned.
So I was just pointing out a possible scenario between the maws and Atomos, since SE hasn't actually updated anything yet regarding it outside of their trailer. Hell, if you wanted to draw ties aside from just the looks alone, the move that Atomos uses in FFIX looks slightly similar to the world you meet Cait Sith in. I know that part is a stretch, but as far as speculation goes, who knows.

Caith Sith is in WotG
Yes, I know Cait Sith is in WoTG. My speculation was that since in the first time through the maw's, her voice is referred to as "a metallic voice", and as such, since in 3 of the other games Cait Sith is controlled by someone else, that there might be a connection between Atomos controlling her.
On the off-chance that we're not being whooshed, 6souls meant everyone has known Cavernous Maws look identical to past Atomos's since like, last summer.
And BRP wasn't being cereal either.
Yea, I've also known that they look like it as well long before WoTG was actually released. And I admit in my first post my comments about them and trying to tie them in with my theory on Cait Sith where askew, which I hopefully clarified. :3 Was just putting thoughts out there for discussion since WoTG is the first expansion I'm actually speculating on beforehand as well as trying to get through the missions as they come.
