I have a question: Why doesn't Tavnazia or Jeuno seem to helping? Tavnazian army gets categorized under San d'Oria? Jeuno has no real army yet? They're busy in other areas?
Or am I missing something?

Jeuno's pretty much bottled up and acting as the financial center for the Allied forces. It's where much of the funding for the war is coming from, via the bank established there.

Not to mention Jeuno is functioning to keep the allied forces on the 'straight and narrow' making sure that they dont fall back into squabbling. (wouldnt help the Archdukes plans if the allies didnt stick together)

Basically Jeuno is to the Allied Forces as Castle Zvhal is to the Beastmen Confederacy, they both house the people who have gathered together the allied armies and both considered focal points of the opposite armies. (though the individual armies would never say that outright)

Id like to see how Tavnazia plays out in all this, and a trip to tavnazia would probably be too much for SE to give us... but i always thought that tavnazia was a major part of this war and the opening movie shows tavnazia... so why the hell not.

Opening up an area like just Ru'lude Gardens would do alot to center the playerbase in a hub as well, i hope something like a 1 zone jeuno is in the works.

I think we'll definitely be going to Tavnazia. The events there were pivotal in creating much of what has happened after the Crystal War. And it was never really clear on how Prishe's "Magicite" ended up in the Northlands.

We know that the Beastmen will capture Aldo's sister during the siege and use her to awaken Odin. We might even have a mission trying to prevent that and protect his sister in order to change Odin's awakening.

Especially considering that in its 3 previous appearances in the FF series Cait Sith was twice a nonorganic being: A puppet in FF7 and again as a puppet in FFX. And then once as an Esper in FF6.

I thought both the cat and the stuffed moogle he was riding were part of the robot controlled by Reeves.

However, if Cait Sith ends up being an avatar in FFXI, then the only real comparison would be his only other FF avatar appearance in FFVI, in which he was as organic as any other esper. However, I wouldn't read too much into it. If they had him speaking like Cardians, then I'd be worried.

Aw geez, holy crap there is a lot to discuss here...

Champions of the Dawn: It can't be us, since the story always seems to make us the one true hero the whole shebang. This leads me to believe that either Kam'lanaut will release the Crystal Warriors (not too likely) or that it's referring to Zeid, Volker, and whomever else was involved in slaying the Shadow Lord (in this case, we could be one of the champions)

Tavnazia: I don't know everything about it, but it seems as though Lightbringer hasn't been drawn yet. This would also mean that Aldo and his sister are also present along with young Prishe and Esha'ntarl.

San d'Oria: It doesn't seem that Davoi has completely fallen yet, but the Orcs do have a good foot hold. What I'm most curious about is if Queen Leute is still alive, if Curialla still has her other eye, and if there are any DRG left (I forget when exactly the last one went missing)

Bastok: Currently getting the crap kicked out of it (which I can't understand for the life of me when they have guns and apparently artillery which btw, would shred you to rat **** regardless of armor or other forms of fantasy BS) and well, not much else I'm too curious about in regards to them just yet. That palborough mines thing is weird though.

Windurst: As stated before, the Yagudo's initial attack has happened, but the battle of Saruta Baruta has not. Remember, SE told us out right that we would see this event. We see Karuha Baruha summoning Fenrir in the trailer! I'd like to know more about the ties to Mithran homeland though, and just how many came from there as opposed to Kahzam.

Jeuno: Forgot all about the siege! I'd like to know what Maat is up to, given that he's apparently a recruitable freelancer (so sayeth SE) and just plain bad ass in general. The thing that bugs me most though, is that in the future we know that the Arch Duke was involved with the Shadow Lord, or something to that effect. I thought it was mentioned in the Stellar Fulcrum that it was all part of their grand plan to open the gates to paradise, that the war was just another step along the way. Or was he talking about the need to kill him? (He says in ZM 6-1 that the SL was interfering with the magicite or something like that. been too long since I've done Zilart > <)

Aht Urhgan: People are forgetting that Aht Urhgan was the "silent nation" during the war. They refused to send any aid whatsoever during the war.

Cait Sith: Gets on my nerves. Big time. I really hate all the ambiguity in her (mono?)dialogue. I seriously doubt she's a villain in this. More pressing is the bizarre real she inhabits as well as both the presence and purpose of Atomos.

Comet in the Sky: I think this is the harbinger, as well as possibly being Atomos, or at least some kind of gate. The reason is, when a comet is visible in the sky like that, that means it's getting really close, really fast. So either it's going to impact Vana'diel causing who knows what, or it's Atomos (or the gate to his realm). Also, I think that weird place cait sith is in could very well be the realm of the avatars that Shantotto mentions @ Aht Urhgan's end. So Alexander could end up being our main entry point there if this is the case.

One of the things i'm really worried about is how the world of the past is going to change as the player progresses through the story line. Everything that we're taking part in has already happened, it has a finite timeline with a definite end, but the actual expansion itself can't end, can it?

For example, in the next "month" of the already established time line:

Karaha-Baruha obliterates a huge number of Yagudo with Fenrir after they invade the Windurstian Capital. Also, The Hydra Corps are formed.

2 "months" after that, Garliage Citadel is destroyed.

Over the next 6 "months" Xarcabard is invaded, Castle Zvahl is besieged, and The Hydra Corps vanish into Dynamis.

Now, as players, we'll probably bear witness to all of this through Missions, i mean, these are some of the most epic aspects of the whole Crystal War, but it all leads to the present that we already know. It's going to kind of destroy the whole epic-ness when i battle my way through the Yagudo line just in time to witness Karaha-Baruha lay waste to the main Yagudo forces, then log out, then log in the next day to see that Sarutabaruta [S] is under Campaign Siege by the Yagudo. Or when I witness, probably through missions, the carnage at Garliage Citadel, log out, log back in, and run through a perfectly intact Garliage Citadel [S].

What happens when all the missions are finished? Yay! We prevented disaster! The future is saved! Receive final cutscene! Receive final item! Enter a Maw. Ope! Back at the start of the Crystal War. -_- Will the “future” continue to be affected by the “past” even after I’ve completed the entire story? How does that make any sense?

Final Mission done. World saved (again). Hey look, Jugner Forest has inexplicably been altered by events in the infinitly looping earlier version of the past you just saved to save the present! TIME FLIP!

The only way it would make any sense is that by completing the Missions you get cut off from traveling back to the past. But if that's the case, the whole expansion itself is pointless. I mean, what, can you just keep completing it and going back and completing it again? Like you just restart at the beginning of the Crystal War each time? Even then, it won't explain the lack of repercussion of key events. And if key events do have world altering repercussions, it won't make any sense to people who aren't at that part of the missions (if they're mission delivered).

Thats why I liked my idea of different times for each of the zones, as if they are all frozen in time. But thats just me...

it seems that the Comet could be Atomos. When you're inside Atomos (in the CS) you see the top of the area has a small opening with "teeth" around it and blue sky + clouds on the other side. Unless SE was implying in the trailer that Atomos is that opening in the sky in that zone.

How about they change the maw so that you can select the time period you go back to after the mission you finish.
But campaign only occurs at the very start.

So after the epic missions, you will get an option to visit a world that has been changed. Then again, it might need additional hardware on their end so they may not do it.

Queen Leaute should still be alive, and Curilla should still be a young girl (perhaps 4? she's not much older than Trion, who should be 2), also I think technically the last dragoon should be dead since Ranperre "sent him off", and Ranperre was Destin's grandfather. Entirely possible he's alive now, but at the very least he's not going to be playing a part here, I figure.

What I find interesting is that Excenmille "chases the remaining Orcish Army" from Quon, two years from when we are now. So that would make him, what, 16? at the most

I don't think it's possible for them to use the same zones for different time periods in the past. Garlaige is going to fall, walls of Jeuno are destroyed, etc.

That's why I really think [S] means start or something equivalent.
