Keyloggers in "cracked" versions of FRAPS

Hi, A long time ago back when i first joined I downloaded a full version of fraps, i'm sure i got it via Kimera who posted the video making sticky on Killingifrit video forum, that cracked version of fraps is in the name of someone called chris evans or something

Anyway.... fast forward to the present and POL crashes randomly, often when i log off, and one occasion I ran a spybot search&destory scan and dealt with crap that it found, after that fraps wouldnt work - then it seemed like the virus was tied into the fraps i had downloaded

huh? i thought to myself, virus in fraps, and damn just as I am trying to record stuff for fan fest.

then i pop over to Alla today and see another person saying his account got hacked and he describes having fraps too and also POL crashing (windows reporting an error like when any other application crashes)

i go hmmmmm, i have fraps and also pol crashes, but i have had fraps since like 2005.

But i guess the fraps that was made available by Kimera (which is no longer available) has a keylogger in it... thankfully i have not had my account hacked..yet anyway.

Anyway, now i want to erase all traces of that FRAPS and i guess i will need to buy a legit copy from the official FRAPs site.

anyone have recommendations on what programs to get for security:

    currently i have:

    1. basic windows firewall
    2. spybot search and destroy from safernetworking.org

Is basic Windows Firewall sufficient? I know there are ones you can buy in stores?

Windows Firewall only blocks inbound traffic, once something is on your computer it does nothing for you. Programs can easily poke holes through the firewall once they are on the inside. I would recommend ZoneAlarm Pro and SpyWare Doctor, both are top-of-the-line Firewalls and Spyware killers respectively. They do tend to bog your computer down a bit, but they do their job.
