they did intend dynamis to be a gil sink. (it's destroying approximately 50million gil per week on my server at my last guess)

ignoring the cost/value of dynamis (I don't think SE really ever intended for dynamis to 'make' money ) I would like to see the price of dynamis lowered for the health of the economy.

between dynamis, limbus, the whitegate AH and various mass bannings - gil has been leaving the system much much faster than it is entering: while this was good in the short term two years ago, things need to balance out before the economy collapses (not that I'm predicting the economy will actually collapse, just that if we continue to lose gil faster than it enters eventually gil will be too valuable to use for things other than npc fees and the AH will die as we move to a barter system.)

Ya, they're never going to lower the price, and have stated as much. I don't recall the state of the economy when Dynamis was introduced, but I think it was either at the same level it is now, or lower, meaning Dynamis was a costly event even back then. They've always stated that those relic weapons weren't going to be for everyone, and with the economy where it's at now they're going to remain a fairly rare item.

More like hurray buttsex. Does SE think there's an army of like 100 players per server constantly spamming /cmap for a sword to appear? I keep showing up to battlefields and find either a couple of dead PCs and a Fortification in the process of getting its day ruined or no one else at all.

Next to no time to get ready is bad enough, the complete lack of NPCs to fall back on is just making shit way too difficult.

Just pick one place and stay there? I camp out in Jugner, let the attacks come to me instead of running around and trying to catch one with laggy /cmap.

Remember the early days of Besieged? I'm sure SE isn't done adjusting things yet. However, things are much better now than they were yesterday -- at least I can actually melee without NPCs swarming the mobs and killing them all.

Plus, in another thread someone mentioned getting 1300+ xp on a single tag, so they really upped the cap from the old 600. Instead of 2000ish xp in a single Campaign, people can probably pull up to 4000-5000 now.

economy is lower now than it has ever been.*

crystals are a good index. in 2004 the more expensive crystals were 5-8k and the cheaper crystals were 1-2k (excluding light crystals which had inflated demand through most of 2004 due to rusty cap fishing)

now expensive crystals are 2-5k on most servers and cheaper crystals are 500g-1k

other good indexes include haubergeon+1, noble's tunic, silent oil, mythril ingots (most ancient (late 2003/early 2004) goldsmithing guides indicate these as a good skillup synth due to their high demand - and that they were profit when produced from the airship vendors. they are no longer profit on most servers.)

darksteel ore is another good example: when I started mining in 2004 they were worth approximately 8k per ore. they are now worth approximately 4k.

silk thread used to be worth 20-24k (guild price is 18k) a stack on most servers throughout 2004. it is currently worth about 10k a stack.

*ok, strictly speaking the lowest point was when the servers first started for JP launch and the average player wealth was five pieces of onion gear and 500g or whatever it is you get for your adventurer's coupon. the economy inflated steadily from that point to early 2006 when SE started to do mass bannings to remove gil from the system. the continued bannings coupled with the reduction in exp to 75 (leading to more dynamis) and the release of the whitegate AH in early 2006 has caused the deflation to accelerate. increased quantities of durable goods have dropped previous luxury item prices (like the body armors introduced in Zilart: Noble's, EBody, etc.) and the general commodities market (crystals food silent oils) is at a level below what it was when the North American Market was introduced in late 2003 (which is what most of us use as a reference point.)

Bahamut is but it's so barren. There is only 1 attack going on at a time, and if it's somewhere gay/somewhere you don't want to go, then you're screwed. I liked doing Campaign only in certain zones (Jugner, Fort K, Inlet) and hate most of the rest (Indoor zones, starter zones, Passhow). They turned a really good system into something shitty instantly, I don't really care about the xp boost unless they suddenly made blm nukes worthwhile points.

    Dear Square,

Please go back in time and put in the system you had yesterday. Also, fix campaign ops.

    Love,
    Kuno

    No thanks ?

I love spamming campaign as much as I can, it was great when there were multiple ones up at once, I'd constantly warp between them because I'd earn much more than I spent.

Anyways they changed it to be stupid now, I'd login every morning and do one quickly before work picking from 1 of the 5 campaigned zones, and today I logged in and there were none for a long time, then finally it showed one, which ended 3 mins after I warped to the region.

Meh to the campaign adjustment. Yay for shortening the time for allies to come, but wtf @ spacing the battles out too much. I can understand making a 5 minute delay between attacks (like in windy last night, it started literally 10 seconds later, so all my points went poof), but now is just dumb.

Damn. What the heck is this? The people QQing over how often Campaign happened were a small minority at most. Frequent Campaigns were both beneficial and realistic, seeing its a time of war.

Not a single sword on the Campaign map for at least 15 minutes now

Have you been attacked by Bakgodek yet?

Also, can one of the mods edit or delete Dulek's post?

    Dear SE,

Good job on fucking up something that didnt need tweaking. You have turned a system that spaced out the playerbase and kept lag down to a minimum into a system where we're gonna be clusterfucked like Al Zahbi was/is.

1 attack in an hr.... /sigh.

Please fix this shit back... multiple attacks and being able to cycle campaigns was the saving grace of this. Fuck EXP bonuses in exchange for longer wait times....

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 28)

How many times was Besieged tweaked, both in the "too easy" direction and the "too hard" direction. I expect to see campaign updates every so often for 4-6 months until they get a balance.

Just like besieged, heres whats happening.

    1) Early flood on day one. Too few mobs for too many people. For those who do it, rewards are earned very quickly. Lag causes your video card to melt. Attendance remains high for one to four weeks.

    2) SE responds, they make it too hard/infrequent or not worth the time. As if the Undead Horde was fun before a pile of NMs and an HNM.

    3) Attendance not only plummets due to the "new factor" wearing off, but because it now sucks. The equivalent to the AC being gone for weeks at a time will be when San d'Oria remains under beastman control and exiting your mog house results in a beating from Overlord Bagodek, who apparently moved in next door.

    4) SE responds, they over shoot the mark in the "easy" direction. Still, its closer to balanced and attendance rises.

    5) More response, two or three more times. Eventually they get it right, or as close to right as we can expect from SE. Campaign becomes something to do when bored/seeking.

SE always makes the mistake of responding "on demand" .. they react to the fact that everything dies in 2 seconds when its new because 4000 peope showed up, then they make it so hard that when its 200, you're screwed. I have high hopes for Campaign and won't pass final judgment on it until at least April of '08.

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 28)

I dont see why they messed with something that wasnt broken to begin with, besides the issue with the campaign map lagging behind 5mins or so and the issue with too many npcs spawning / not despawning / getting stuck.

Adding to temp items, ok. Making the npcs that are supposed to despawn, despawn. ok

Lowering the instances that the said event happens = huh?

Anyways, lets just hope this is yet another blunder they 'fix' overnight.

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 28)

Campaign seems to be lasting about 5-10 minutes now tops, its laggy as hell because theres only one zone having it at a time(between seemingly 15-20 minute breaks) and I haven't seen an NPC yet.

Its really a shame people had to QQ over Campaign (Mostly people from ZAM admittedly), it was genuinely fun before. Now it seems just like Besieged v2, why even bother?
