This is in fact the correct answer. I was making a generalization. The fact remains that it's not easy to find a woman who will/can have casual sex without developing an attachment who is also not crazy. According to Loveline (again) the two tend to be related.

Why is everyone assuming that women have no brains in this thread?

I'm actually assuming that nobody bothers to use their brains where sex is involved. A guy's body tells him to do something so he does it. A girl's body tells her to do something else so she does that. Doing something else is possible with a little effort, especially if other people (read: society, or just the people you spend time with) say that it's a good idea.

Whilst I'm not keen on going into philosophical or sociological discussions and contemplation during sex, I still find it possible to think about things either side of the event.

Luckily humans are conscious organisms and as such capable of learning. Just because the raw instinct is to further the species doesn't mean that people can't get beyond that and look at the reasons for their actions, think about the consequences of their actions and decide what they want and enjoy from sex and/or relationships.

I don't think there are many people out there still that need to make "a little effort" to overcome their base instincts.

You know, people who think that women don't enjoy sex and sit around waiting for that one special man to come alone and make them complete really need to watch Maury Povich- there is a "Who's my baby daddy" episode pretty much every other day. And before someone tries to bring up race or socio-economic status as an excuse, go to your local college bar to see the middle to upper-middle class versions of those episodes.
