Just to add a bit, apparently the signboards have 10 element strength? Needs verifying, but if so, I can show off my flags and still get cooking skill boosts. Yay!

Wow seems like a waste of GP :\
Then again all I have is alchemy, like I smash anything worth money.
Being a bonecrafter I need to know the following before I make the investment in time and money. Could someone do some testing on this.
On synths that guarantee to loose the most expensive ingredient on a break, does this now lessen the chance of breaking the synth to begin with or just mean that the junk can now break instead and leave my expensive item alone , ie V.claw or Angel skin
So much for my rush to level 100 T-TOriginally Posted by Semitry
Though, did get the last 4 skillups I needed all in a row, so it's not as bad. Wanna buy a stack of leftover Galateia?
Wow, that's some nice luck...
I'm glad I haven't started going to 100 yet, though since the new item isn't +1 galateia prices shouldn't skyrocket.
I'm at 131k at the moment, I imagine I'll hit 200k shortly before or after the new year.
Somehow i think the item wont discriminate between what mats are lost, just either you end up with less critical breaks, or that you have more breaks that lose nothing but the crystal. Plus ive broken just about every big bone synth and I know ive done it without losing the most expensive part, angle skin, v claw, b hides etc.Originally Posted by Loziel
would be easier to test by breaking a haku eye cluster w/ the effect.Originally Posted by Skeetaru
odorous knives are another item that i almost always lose white steel and lumber. im close to 200 now, ill try to test some soon. Right now with Overwhelming Fire i notice a HUGE difference in materials lost compared to my mule without. Some reason i bet 75% of time i lose those 2 when i make knives
This is quite surprising news actually- the materials saved better be worth it to be honest, because that's a helluva lot of GP just for some fancy furniture and a few less mats lost on breaks. Question: I'm currently pursuing Guild points in Clothcraft myself, will the sign alone give +1 skill? If so, (currently have glasses) thinking of going sign->apron->tapestry with my clothcraft...although if not, might as well stick to apron->tapestry->sign....Originally Posted by Kuponut
guess just wondering what the consensus is for those of us without any guild furnishing yet- go for the sign, or stick with the 150k item?
***btw kuponut that's an insane end streak there.
Would be worth it to me if by putting both furnitures in your mog, you could get another crafts moghance... but that doesn't seem to be the case![]()
Dear Crafters,
Enjoy your useless new furniture that takes 4 months to obtain.
With Love,

I'm still gonna get it for "less breaks" but it really is a kick in the nuts when everyone was expecting another +1 skill.
Has anyone had the chance to test the Aura Strength of the Signboards yet? If so, does the moglification (200k CP + 150k CP) item together have any further enhancements other than less materials being lost. For example, having a moglification effect allows furnature with bigger storage space and auras that were not able to be used before?
Thank you![]()
Also curious on this... I know a few people who cannot get a moghancement: 'craft' because their moghouses are filled so they can max storage space. Will the two together give moglification over a moghancment: 'anything', or does the element of the signboard and furnishing still have to be dominant?
Most people who started from 0 points are still two-three weeks away from having them![]()
I'm tempted to try to do some Raxa synths. When I was break-leveling off Raxa synths in the 90s (with overwhelmingearth energy), I only salvaged one piece.
And then, find someone stupid enough to do a subligar desynth nowadays!
I'm going to get it just because I want to have everything that I can for GP items. I even have clockworking as a goldsmither.
I also have no furnishing yet, and here is my plan:Originally Posted by Celebrindor
Someone earlier said that the Sign seem to have higher aura strength than the 150k furniture, which would make it easier for me to pump my dark element(bonecraft here) up to overcome the other furnishings' elemental aura, so if it is confirmed that the 200k sign does have higher aura, then I am gonna get the sign 1st, because it would be easier for me to get my sign's element dorminate, but if it's confirm a false, then I would probably just get the 150k GP furniture 1st.
I am not sure how it goes for clothcraft, but for bonecraft, we don't get that many dark element furnishings that have a high aura strength, but lower than our drogaroga, and I kinda want to keep my mog house pretty while having my GP moghancement(and eventually moglification).
I can't offer an exact solution for you, but I guess you could try seeing which plan suit you the best? 150k 1st or 200k 1st.
If it helps any, the FFXI terms dictionary wiki says 10 for the aura strength of the Signboard (the 150k items are 9).
Most likely it will have to be dominant.Originally Posted by Sonded
As Nyuneko mentioned, part of the reason I want to get mine is because it's one of the few good Ice Energy furnishings available. Plus it looks neat. :ashira:
Even if it had no function at all, it wouldn't be useless to me. I love stuff for my MH, and this is something that will be almost unique! (100% unique within my LS and circle of friends!) The leathercrafting sign looks especially nice (tails!), I'd happily pay 200K GP just for looks alone, but then I'm strange that way.Originally Posted by aurik
