Best Video Card on the Market?

I'm am a fan of ATI but not a fanboy. the 3870 is seriously the best bang for the buck right now hands down and I purchased it for only $210 Retail. So what if it is slower than the 8800. Does it really matter when you're already playing at a high frame rate? I don't think so.

No, but thats like saying a Pinto is no better than a Ferrari as long as you're going the same speed. When you actually do want max performance (say, playing Crysis) the better card is quite obviously better; if you're playing Diablo and you're getting 3000 FPS no matter what card you got, yeah, its no big deal, but for true next-gen games it pays to have the best

most of those cards coming out support next gen technologies. the radeon is dx 10.1,. You make a very valid point but I would not get a 8800 ultra.
