I have a friend who says she was at a party in NYC the night before he died and said all night he was taking something. Hearsay, I know.

What I said above is what I saw yesterday on an E! special about Ledger's life. People spread rumors of a suicide/intentional overdose, but the coroner's report just showed reasonable levels of each of the prescription drugs he was taking. He died from simply combining the wrong prescriptions. It was officially ruled an accidental death.

Saw it at the IMAX today, and I'm going to go ahead and say this was the best movie I've ever seen.

It was good, but not as great as everyone here made it out to be.

Ledger was brilliant though, but I think Jim Carrey/Johnny Depp could have pulled off the part just as well. Although in the end, I loved his portrayal and sad that he'll never be in a sequel. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed every moment he was on screen. However....I just can't figure out what I was more impressed by, Ledger's performance or the epicness of the villain/character Joker really was.

Just saw it as well. I must admit, i think Ledger's performance overshadowed the movie itself. I'm not just saying that because he died. His performance was amazing, way beyond what I could have imagined. What a way to go out, too bad the movie itself was mediocre.

ledger pretty much redeemed himself from the gay cowboy thing, and i have to say that he did a fucking phenomenal job as the joker, he honestly made the movie. the pencil trick rofl, and the mother fucking hospital bomb and "i want my phonecall"

Great movie, but I was hoping for more billionaire bruce wayne playboy antics. Bale can deliver on that kind of shit like no one else. It seems where Batman Begins was all about bruce wayne/batman, this one was more all about the joker (in terms of character development and exploration.)

Also finding myself agreeing with people who didn't care too much for the Batman voice - it was a little too gruff I guess.

10/10 would watch again, although if I had to choose between the two, I think I prefer Batman Begins. However, I've only seen TDK once, and Begins countless times, so we'll see if that holds over time. Can't wait for the dvd/bluray/whatever to come out so I can watch that shit back to back.
