I think Harvey is alive. In the movie a lot of characters 'fall' so to speak. Both figuratively and literally.

Although, Batman looked pretty roughed up by the fall at the end and had body armor on sooooo....spaghettios.

I think Harvey is fine though. Considering everything else Gordon is going to cover up: Feigning a search for Batsy/covering up for harvey's murders/etc.

It doesnt seem too far-fetched that they'd ship him off to arkham for therapy.

plus, since you have the joker in custody now, you'd think a new wing in arkham for the especially psychotic would be created.

in Batman Begins, Batman was perfectly fine with letting Ra's Al Ghul (I think that's how it's spelt) die to save gotham, yet he goes and saves the joker? Would've been more effective to have the joker's own chaos consume him and cause his death.
Well, he also kind of threw the Joker off of the building. If Mr. J went splat, that would've been a kill, not a missed save. Ra's just happened to be in a train that was headed for destruction. Bats didn't actually blow up the train or anything. He just didn't save him.

Also, I think the next movie would be great to include the Hush or City of Light story arcs in. Both were very interesting and very realistic. Nothing too far-fetched.

I like this idea. Dark Knight was taken largely from The Killing Joke, a movie about a stocked Arkham could be generated from Arkham Asylum: Serious House on Serious Earth

Perhaps they're referring to artistic choices such as not having erect nipples on the batsuit. Or a plot that wasn't made for 12 year olds. One of the two.

Saw the film earlier today, really liked it. I thought it was better than Batman Begins, which I thought was a really good movie too. Its awful that Heath died, because the film certainly suggested that he would have returned.

I think nolan said no to catwoman, robin, batgirl, and the penguin.

as for good villains translating to the nolanverse:
    Black Mask*
Deadshot(may be a no because of Gotham Knight)
    Hangman
Mr. Zsasz (he made a cameo Batman Begins)
    Rupert Thorne
    Firefly*
    Scarface(lolmaybe)
    Reaper

    * denotes ones I'm most hoping/sure we'll see. Riddler pretty much a shoe in, mad hatter would work if they make him a rapist.

Sorry, I wasn't being a dick, I was sincere actually, haha... I like his sig too and I really couldn't think of anything on-topic...

That being said, I thought I remember reading somewhere that they don't want to bring back any traditional batman villains for the third movie. I'll try to find the link, but I may just be remembering inaccurately.

He was flipping for gordons son, the line just before batman tackles him is, "Lie to him just like I had to lie to the love of my life, Tell him it will all be ok, and he'll be fine" Gordon says that, two-face flips the coin, batman tackles. I took that it meant batman didn't have to kill two face, because as chance would have it, he wasn't going to kill anyone. That was a major recurring theme within the movie and batman lore, he never wanted to kill anyone, but it always lingered in his head how many lifes could be saved by taking that one life, even if chance wouldn't have anyone killed. Scenes that remind me of this

    I lol'd at this article

    http://kids.yahoo.com/parents/blog/1...t%27+for+Kids?

""I would not take a kid to see 'The Dark Knight,' said Chuck. "The Joker and Two-Face alone could give a kid nightmares." The oft-mentioned violence is not of one of gore, he says, but more of the heart—and thus potentially more terrifying. "The main thing is that it is a very dark movie," Chuck concludes."There's no ray of hope for the city." He recommends kids be 14 or older to see the film."

Gee, no shit. Any parent retarded enough to bring their 8 yr old to see this movie deserves to pay for the years of therapy.

er if batman would have shown his identity joker wouldn't have killed those 5 people, but its arguable that joker would have. There was A LOT of 50/50 references in this movie. I think it was probably the main theme, Joker being so sadistic that everything he did was chanced, and batman always could act as the intervention between the too. Reminds me of the quote "Success is when opportunity meets luck" just in a much darker and someone abstract sense.

    Rape huh?

Personally, I don't know where the story will go now but apparently Goyer has a theme in mind. Not villain, but theme. He said that villain/theme are interconnected though so shouldn't be long for them to figure it out.

If TDK was about escalation, among other things, I really wonder what would be next. Batman's on the run, Rachel needs an R3, Harvey had half his face hacked and Joker got GM'd.
Feels, like it would be hard to top everything that happened in TDK and if

seemed to me like Joker had a single plan the entire time. To break Harvey Dent. Just as he wanted to do to Gorden in The Killing Joke. All while he had his fun with batman. Everything he did in the movie, seemed perfectly planned out to do that one thing, no matter how random and chaotic and left to chance it seemed. for example if, the guy who was gonna reveal batmans name was killed, he would have blown up the hospital anyways.

Yea thats what I mean though, maybe it wasn't chance to the joker, but it was always chance to batman. So he had to struggle with it and in the end he had to intervene even if the main way was for everyone to live, he couldn't risk it so he put one life on the line to save 2 others. "Its all part of the plan" kinda made me think about this, because bruce made a few comments about how if he just did this or that he could have saved someone, but realistically it seemed as if the joker was gonna make everything happen that way regardless if someone intervenes. Which actually puts two-face at the top of the charts for the main villain because its 50/50 for people to die as long as he is alive. The only 100% protection of the innocent is by killing two face, which would make him break his only rule and kill his friend. Whereas the joker seemed to be more towards the 100% death route, which would kind of make him easier for the batman to kill.

I thought it was funny that the moment I saw Harvey flip the coin, without paying attention to his name, I knew he was Two - Face.

Great movie, should be a great DVD.

LONDON - Batman star Christian Bale was arrested Tuesday over allegations of assault, British media reported.

British media had reported that Bale's mother and sister complained they were assaulted by the 34-year-old actor at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Sunday night, a day before the European premiere of his latest film, "The Dark Knight."

The women made the allegation at a local police station in southern England on Monday, Britain's Press Association news agency said. It later said Bale had been arrested, citing "police sources."

Asked whether Bale was in custody, a police spokesman did not refer to him by name but said: "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault."

The spokesman spoke anonymously in line with force policy and refused to go into more detail. British police do not name suspects before they are formally charged.

U.S.-based representatives for Bale didn't immediately return messages seeking comment. Repeated phone calls to Bale's London representative went unanswered.

The Sun newspaper said police didn't question the actor Monday because they didn't want to interfere with the premiere of the movie.

Wales-born Bale first made a splash as the child star of Steven Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun" in 1987. His screen credits also include "American Psycho," "The Machinist" and "Batman Begins."

In "The Dark Knight," Bale reprises the role of wealthy playboy Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter-ego Batman, a brooding vigilante superhero still scarred by the murder of his parents.

The film, which stars the late Heath Ledger as Batman's nemesis The Joker, took in a record $158.4 million at the box office in its opening weekend in the U.S. last week.

Isn't Assault in the UK, like lashing out as well as physical violence

So he could have just flipped out verbally and karate-chopped a chair while screaming HADOOOOKEN in the vicinity of his mom and sis?

Sometimes you just gotta slap a ho
