Unless they added a mole to Cillian's face, that's not him on the boat.
It looked like him I thought, maybe it was the other dude, the one who Harvey tried to get information from as to the whereabouts of Rachel. Eh, if it wasn't Scarecrow, wonder why they focused on that guy and not the guy in the suit who was holding the box with the detonator (the Warden?).
Maybe to show the surprise and overall emotional reaction? I thought that whole sequence was fantastic. They didn't have to add it, but it just completely blended with the whole theme and made the point it was trying to get across so subtly well. You rarely get that from action movies, where the focus away from the main characters is scripted and acted superbly. But you can basically tell it's going to be that kind of movie from the opening sequence.
Just got back from this movie and my god, it was awesome. Can't wait for the next one <3 Heath played an awesome Joker , may he RIP.
Your friend needs to be smacked upside the back of his head an forced to endure the first four Batman movies again. Not a single one of those borrowed anything except characters, and with the exception of the first(and maybe the second), did so badly.
Batman Begins borrows very heavily from Batman: Year One(by Frank Miller and David Mazuchelli).
The Dark Knight takes elements from both Batman: The Man Who Laughs(Ed Brubaker, Doug Mahnke), and Batman: The Long Halloween(Jeph Loeb, Tim Sale). It takes a few more liberties than the first movie did, varying a bit more with themes relevant to our current socio-political climate.
Anyways, all three are fucking amazing stories, which I highly recommend you give a try. I don't think your friend's assessment was fair, I think he was letting nostalgia paint his outlook. "Begins" and "Knight" are just what the Batman films should have been.
On the subject of a sequel, I think that we can all agree that there is practically no way they can top The Dark Knight; it's simply too tall an order.
They can, however, match it.
If every other film from here on simply strives to meet "Knight's" level of excellence, then there is nothing more to be accomplished. They will simply be great movies.
In regards to the earlier comments, the story borrows the heaviest from the Long Halloween, though some details are changed, alot of elements of that story are very noticable to people who have read the comic.
Spoiler: show
Though it really only takes a very minor theme towards the end, there is a little bit of the The Dark Knight Returns, which should be mandatory reading for anyone who has ever even heard the word Batman.
Just saw it again and I must say one thing..
Spoiler: show
Call me crazy for liking the acting of Two-Face/Harvey Dent and The Joker more then Bale's Batman. I still prefer Val Kilmer's Batman over his anyways.
Spoiler: show
Saw the movie last night, its fucking amazing, so amazing it calls for a new sig and avatar^^
Just saw it, nothing spectacular. Although, Heath Ledger did play a very good joker.
I doubt all the spoiler tags are needed, nobody who has not seen the movie and wants to would be stupid enough to actually read this thread.

I've heard her described as a lot of unflattering things, but chubby is a first. >.>
she looked quite terrible in this movie and I used to find her attractive.
Just got back from my 2nd viewing. Enjoyed it just as much as the first.
And yeah that bitch is ugly, but not ugly in a bad way. Like she's ugly but I'd still be her fuck buddy and just not tell anybody. (assuming she weren't rich and famous)
