    Re: Besieged vs Campaign

After earing 25,000XP and 17,000AN without having to wait for 10 years between attacks.
Campaign Wins imo by so much.

I will never have to exp again.

I hate XPing/meriting. Bores me to tears. I've never joined a random merit party and have only merited maybe twice with LS parties in my whole time playing. The only way I got merit points was through Besieged, so you can imagine how slow it was.

On Saturday, I got two merit points through Campaign alone. Yesterday I finished another one. I got another one on Thursday/Friday before the two-merit Saturday.

I'm up to six of them since Campaign started, not to mention 37K AN. Campaign is so much love for anyone who hates to party (or plays a job that doesn't get invites).

Has anyone figured out a way for mages to get a lot of experience points/merits points in Campaign yet? I wish my WHM could manage to get more than 300 points for 15 minutes of work. >_>

I think the only way is to bust out the Purgatory mace and DD. I'm guessing SE just doesn't want people leveling up low-level jobs in campaign by cure bombing.

Buff, buff, buff. On small/short attacks, our random WHM was out-rewarding me every time. On one tiny little attack, I got 60 XP and he got 220, which almost made me fall over!

Perhaps, like Besieged, you need to do a little of everything your job can do, too. I try to cast, melee, buff/cure, and JA every time (I always go as DRK/WHM). Maybe try to get a few melee swings in, too?

Also, I find that turning in your tags and getting new ones seems to hurt you, unless it's between waves. I don't do that after a couple mobs anymore. (I suspect there's a time-you've-been-flagged based part of figuring out the reward, too.)

Sub a job with lots of job abilities, use them all (including two hour), then use a revitalizer?

That or maybe sub DRK and get a few souleatered swings in there.

Can revitalizers be bought with AN? I've never even looked at the option, not about to waste AN on temp items.

Sleepga seem to give a fair share of points. Depending what I fight (works the best on ranger and mage), I will usually try landing 3x thundaga III (or blizzaga). On harder stuff, I'm usually double weak by that time, so I just sleepga for the rest of the fight (get me around 1000xp on the shortest fight if I managed to gather the mobs together).

    No idea on other jobs

Kudos for dying and reraising after -gaing hordes of mobs instead of kiting them.

Or at least nuking rangers who will just stand there plinking you anyways.

Also: Eseal > Sleepga lasts full duration, helps out, and gets good points.

I'm going to test next campaign a theory I'm working on.

Is it sad that I find fighting those quadavs in rolan/pashhow/crawler's nest more fun than besiege and other campaigns?

No, they're a challenge and rewarding if you can get some support to actually draw the fight out.
