How many Macro Books do YOU use?

"/macro set #" works for the book you're in to switch pages/sets.

One book per job with windower scripts because everyone is doing it.

Thanks for being a complete asshole instead of just explaining what "/macro set" did. Due to SE's terrible lack of tutorials I never knew you could switch macros like that (my fault for not reading the update notes more carefully.) I've always used the pages or sets for each individual job so it was far easier for me to move up and down the book sets then rewriting my macros. I thought Wakif was referring to /macro "gear set" windower function.

I'm seeing exactly what people are talking about now when using 1 book per job with that functionality. Again though thanks for being an ass about it, I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

9 books with some of them nearly filled with macros. Can't help it, I'm a macro whore. Made a seperate pallete for pretty much every sub for every job I have at 75 or am leveling. Wish I could use windower macros but alas, I'm stuck on 360 ever since my comp fried and I don't feel like playing on my laptop here.

Currently? the same one book, like 8 palettes, that I used before the update. I haven't gotten around to making 16 copies of the same palette and then switching 4-5 tiles (berserk and warcry for SA and TA, or ichi and ni, etc) per line. It seems silly, but I'll probably wind up moving to the one book per job as well eventually when i find myself with a few hours to retype so many of them. Windower macros, of course.

Something I don't see getting mentioned a lot but another advantage of windower macros for me is that they don't overwrite each other. I.e. if I have CTRL+1 saying /wait 5 /echo Hi there and CTRL+2 saying /echo Too slow, and I hit CTRL+1 then CTRL+2 I'll just see CTRL+2's effect. If I use windower macros to do the same thing, I'll see CTRL+2's output and 5 seconds later see CTRL+1's response. This example is pretty bland but there are tons of uses for having your macros with /wait times run concurrently instead of just overwriting each other.

If SE enabled them to do that, removed the random lag that occurs using them, increased lines up to 20+, then I'd start to consider not using windower macros. Hell, I'd be happy with just that and one book. All the extra books didn't really help much overall.

I use windower macros as well, but I have one book per job. I have extremely superfluous sets (I have one devoted to dynamis on whm, one for full mp equip on brd, one for full -enm equip on brd, one for blm/whm dynamis, blm/whm hnm, blm/rdm, etc) but I figure there's so much damn space that it really doesn't matter how much I use.

For organizational purposes, I can see why people would use one book per job, but seriously... one book of macros for WAR??

I have 5 pallets for DRG alone at the moment... >.> I use one for each sub job (WAR SAM THF WHM BLU). The gear/main JA/WS macros stay the same between sets, but other tiles vary depending on what SJ it's for e.g. Berserk vs. Hasso vs. Sneak Attack vs. Poisona + Healing Breath gear swaps vs. Foot Kick + Healing Breath gear swaps, etc. It sure beats the cut and paste jobs I had to do before macro books were added. One pallet was full of extra JA/spell macros I'd swap whenever I used a different SJ.

I did the same thing. Those took up 3 Pallets alone before these were released. Definately nice to have seperate pallets for each SJ now.

Anyways, I have all 20 labeled, but only actively use 6 of them.

3 books for each of my jobs (with windower macros for sure) + book with my old macros.
At last was able to do separate sets for BLM when in normal area, area with undeads, Dynamis e t.c.
Now need something to fill last 2 free lines in BLM book and thinking how to organize different BLU and RDM sets (will be something close to full book too).

Wish there were some normal editor to drag buttons or whole macro lines from book to book with single mouse move, SE one sucks badly...

PS2, 1 book, BRD, NIN, SAM, MNK, and lvling PLD, I use one palet per job and have no issues with casting spells or using JAs, only thing used from the menu is cure spells. Top that.

Using one book per job, no mage jobs levelled yet, so every palette is for a different subjob or setup (es. exp/soloing).

Oh... and SpellCast for everything

I still use Windower macros for equipment swaps and aliases so I can set the day/weather/region-controlled status and not have to change macros.

I'm using 8 macro books though. Since I was already using folders to store different macro sets and just copying them into my user folder when I needed to switch, the only thing the new books have done is make that process a bit easier.

I have books for:

1. BLM, RDM, BRD
2. WHM, SMN, BLU
3. Melee jobs
4. SCH
5. Level 60 capped
6. Level 50 capped
7. Level 40 capped
8. Level 30 capped

5 books. I use different amount of Pallates for each book, PLD being the most with 8 Pallates being used, NIN with 6~, Sam 4 and cor 4 and the last one is just random macros for lowbie jobs.

It's great to be able to make many macro palletes for stuff like my rng, each pallete has slightly different gear setups, some are for archery, others for marksmanship, others differ in the subjob i have at the moment. I personally love this because i can be much more versatile depending on what i am fighting at the moment. :D

I have everything cramped on the book 1, just like it was before. My gear swaps are done by windower macros, so that's the only thing i really need.

Something I don't like however about the new macro system is the copy/paste/delete. I like to swap in and out 1 WS macro from my DRK bar, Guillotine and Spinning Slash, depending on which weapon I'm using then i copy/paste the macro to the main bar, but I don't like leaving another copy back in the other bar, just a pain to delete it after (yes i know it doesn't take 2 seconds, but oh lazyness~). Anyway I don't want to have 2 identical bars just with a single macro differently from each other.

Well since there is so much space, i might as well now, but meh -.-

for Rdm 2 macro books before the update, if I were to re-write my macro's to take advantage of the macro calling command probably about 6 or so books just for rdm

for nin 2 macro books, one for straight tanking and one for ele wheel level capped stuff.

for thief 1 macro book unless I re-wrote.

p.s. Windower macros are 98.4% more elegant
