How many Macro Books do YOU use?

Personally, I use one book for every job in addition to Windower macros. So at the moment... 4. Each book is set up to have different types of things for each job. Such as:

BLM - Nuking pallette, Elemental pallette, Dynamis pallette, etc.
WHM - Pallette for /nin, Pallette for /blm, Pallette for /smn, Pallette for /thf, and Salvage Pallette etc.
Same goes for the other jobs.

All the different types of situations requires different types of macros. It makes it easier to change from mage to melee without having to adjust macros every time. I haven't fully converted everything over just yet but will do.

I can't imagine going back to not having the /set commands, and plenty of sets to waste.

After getting used to double tapping for my WS > TP gear macros, and loving the ability to get into Jump gear without having to move the cursor off of WS gear, L2-X, R2-X, L2-X, right, R2-X, L2-X-X and I burn through a jump or two, finishing my > 100% TP, and pop a WS, then I'm back into TP gear instantly. Swapping 8 pieces of gear in total, with room to swap 3 more.

Would have to tab left or right multiple times to get the same effect without the /macro set command.

/macro set gives you extra lines effectively

I use all 20... 1 for each job lol
20 jobs = 20 books
i only use one part of book per each job mostly... except a few, like a rdm in this case, i use 5-6 parts due to different subjobs
like one part will have my solo macro /nin and one part with /whm one part with /blm etc

I'm working on fleshing everything out, but I have 4 75s, and 2 jobs in the 60s, each have their own book.

I have 2 jobs I'm halfassed leveling, so those got their own books.

And I have one job in the teens I'm relatively sure I'll get to 75 eventually, which also got it's own book.

I also made book20 my original allmymacrosin1book.

I'll be fleshing out each job, so that DRK has seperate macro sets for /WAR, /SAM, /NIN, and Kclub/FortAxe 2hrSE. Each sub will also have splits for GS and Scythe.

WHM will have /BLM /SMN and lolMeleeWHM/NIN.

THF will have Dynamis, Solo, and Merit/HNM/similar gear setups, with /WAR and /NIN using different pallettes.

NIN will have Merit (Day) and Merit (Night), and /DRK Day/Night, /WHM solo, and Evasion. Day and Night is due to different gear sets with AF/AF2, obviously. I get sick of going into each macro and editing "Koga Tekko" in and out.

Sam will eventually have a set for /WAR /NIN /THF /RNG.

I play BLM almost entirely through menus, with Sleeps Bind Grav Drain Aspir etc as my only macroed spells, with a macro for each stave and //ed macros for day/element bonus gear. Also Sorc ring shit obviously macroed.

SMN and RDM are 30s/40s, and I just have them there mostly for shits n giggles. I level them if a pal happens to be in that level range and wouldn't mind having me along. Idk if these will ever be 75.

Ranger is lvl 13 LAWL but, eventually will have sets for Meripo (melee for tp, WS), HNMish shit (stand back n spaaaaaaaam) and seperate macros for /WAR and /NIN. Also the CP Arrows will be on different macro sets, for safety.

I guess there isn't much else to do, I might make macro sets for spamming annoying shit like CLAWRARS and middle fingers at people, and shit for dynamis... but idk.

I use one book for capped events 30-40, one for all other capped events & Dynamis (I do a lot of promy and BCNM runs), one for Rdm and Whm (together - both are sub-70 so I don't have as much need for gearswaps &c), one for my DD jobs and one for my various Monk loadouts, including Assault and my weird fascination with odd-ass subjobs.

Before the update I routinely had macroes like

This just lets me break everything down into seperate books and lessens the chance of Besieged lag screwing up my macroes on subs I play less-often. Plus <ctrl>-<Shift>-1 is now a "swap books" palette for all of my jobs and loadouts, with names like "RD30" or "MRd75". Makes life much, much easier.

I had the problem of having to swap out WS lines that I used a lot, Steel Cyclone for sky, Raging Rush for meriting, Ground Strike for SCing, Full Break for whatever, etc.

Putting my gear swap macro on two sets with the buttons "overlapping" let me put all the WSes I may use on the R2 page with some other sub related things, seigan, hasso, jump on there, with the L2 page having stuff like Warrior's Charge, 2hr, Zerk, Warcry, and a TP macro that puts me on the main set for that sub.

I'm with most everybody 1 macro book per job. For BRD & WHM, I just copied my original book of all my macros. For BRD I originally had each macro have the ability to cast 2 songs(used the recast timer to my advantage). So I had 2x the songs in 1 macro pallet.

I have found the /macro set command to be a god send for SCH. I have 1 pallet for both light and dark arts. This also helps me know what effect I'm under so I can cast the appropriate spells. The macro that activates either light or dark arts also switches gear and then sets me to the pallet for that art. I think SE's developers put in the books just b/c they realized how crappy SCH would be w/out something like this to make switching arts easier.

So I can wear specific gear for SA or TA mercy, and I have one for all the other WS's too, for example my SA Mercy has heca harness equipped , my SA DE has Skadi body.
