Gamespot fires EIC Jeff Gerstmann for low game score

Fired for 6.0? He was being easy on Kane & Lynch. I enjoyed it but I'm easy to entertain, it was pretty terrible for a next-gen game imo.

It wasn't necessarily the 6.0 he gave, it was the overall tone of his video review that pissed Eidos off.

And twilight princess getting an 8.9 is still essentially a 9, out of 10.. which should classify it as outstanding.

Hadn't even heard of Kane & Lynch until this firing. Should be fairly crappy if the publicity over a firing due to a bad review of the game makes more headlines then the game itself.

Twilight Princess is the worst zelda iv played since OoT, i hated Nintendo for it because it was nothing more than an overlong clone of Ocarina of Time. And wow, never thought that something like this would come from gamespot.

That may have came wrong. What i meant is TP is the worst Zelda i have played compared to all the other Zelda games that came after OoT, OoT is one of the best games ever. I liked Majora's Mask and Wind Waker way more than Twilight Princess.

I usually read reviews and check game rankings before buying a game, i dont like to get a game and end up not playing it. So seeing something like this from Gamespot makes me wounder, is there any website that i can trust ?

Ahh, my mistake. I'll check his review out though, have me curious now.

Edit: Just watched it and really, he didn't say anything that couldn't be said about the game. I guess I wouldn't have a job long at Gamespot because I could be a lot more critical than he was. I think Eidos was just mad their game got a poor review, but really they probably put more effort and time into their trailers (that got me interested in the game) than the game itself. Completely unjustified termination from Gamespot in my opinion, the guy was being generous and professional about it I think. Oh well.

THPS deserved a 10 by all means. Playing tag without the actual "tag' mode was a fucking blast. Then it just went to the shitter.

The neatest idea that the game has to offer is it's multi-player mode which is called "Fragile Alliance". It's a really neat idea, unfortunately it plays out in the context of "Kane and Lynch" so it has most of the same problems as the story mode.

If all these great ideas were...in a different game, it would be great!

I didn't find this review to be particularly unprofessional, he sounds legitimately and understandably disappointed in the game, and explains why pretty well.

I really didn't think it was THAT bad. I mean he pointed out some cool things the game had to offer. I was actually kind of want to rent it to try out the multilayer because of his review.

Majora's Mask was a great game. I loved the focus on the sidequests and the people in the world, instead of just dungeon's, it really gave the game an epic feeling.

The multiplayer is fun for the first round, and iirc there are five rounds per game. Don't waste your $7, or however much it costs to rent games where you live.
