    Sheep In Antlion's Clothing question

Once again, Sath and Deadlegend here, about to attempt to duo this NIN + RDM on the rumor that there are specific spots where the NM always spawns, so by sticking to those spots we cut our chance of finding fakes greatly.

Now I've done this many many times before and the reason I'm even posting is because I feel there's a certain validity to this claim and was wondering if anybody had really mapped this out (either literally or figureatively) and was able to tell me exactly what I'd be looking at.

We're preparing for 1 hunter + NM, we've tried duo with sleeping the adds before and with NIN solo it's just too much (we got all 3 adds) so we figure if we hit 2 adds + time to kill them + NM we will most likely time out.

Honestly, even "I think I remember them being more common (generalized area 1) - (generalized area 2) will help, we duo like the wind every week and to be honest, I'd rather lose sheep every week than look forward to another 2k XP and 5,000 gil, so I plan to track our results as well.

    Thanks in advance

Do this regularly with RDM + WAR, you are correct that it spawns in certain spots, however it shares those spots randomly with the other antlions. There are only a half dozen spots, but I couldn't tell you exactly where all of them are, you have to walk exactly over them to make the thing pop usually, which is why you basically just need to get a feel for where to run. Kill time isn't really a big deal, can kill all 3 ants + big guy in time, you'll need to get Tuchulcha 4 times to kill him. A combination of a lot of placeholders + struggling to find tulch can result in timing out.

Gonna give it a shot now, just out of curiosity since I know I need to use sushi 100% for tchu because of EVA gear, does your WAR gear anything special? Or just ridill / ebody / etc?

Have done this with 3, it was really close and that was with just two placeholders. If you are lucky you can do it, if not you are going to run out of time. We did it with WAR, WAR, WHM.

Sushi is the way to go, but use DD gear not eva gear. Slow II lands without a problem and the idea is to get it to its burrow hp as quickly as possible.

    11:50s Kejusu Satin only

No hunters, got real lucky but completely spaced the layout of the pops so think 2 minutes can be shaved once we get back in the hang of things, would still love to know if anyone does actually have them all mapped out though.

We need to sub thief and kneel (facing southwest) when we pop the chest if we don't want to get retarded drops.

Semi-related, but we're debating something and for the purpose of our discussion, would it be possible for any RDM who solo Holy Cow - Bearclaw ENM (solo, not 2 box or etc) to post their gear / setup?

Can PM me if you need to / don't want to post the tricks.

Is that Aspis? I remember seeing Avesta do it and wanting to try it but my old RDM character got banned before I could give it a shot.

I think the strat is to wait for it to take magic damage and chainspell nuke it, then kite it around with dots, casting bliz 1 to check if its back in magic damage taking mode, then nuke until its out, repeat until it's dead.

Apis is relatively easy... Just bind in enfeeb gear and kite with wlegs... Use grav sparingly and DoT, and know when to nuke, it's really not that hard. Make sure you have haste up at all times and try to macro in haste gear when casting utsu on RDM.

Appreciate the responses but we know it's asss easy, we have no problem with it really, just trying to compare DL's nuking damage vs. the nuke damage of the RDM who solo it / gear choices also, as his nukes are doing shitty damage and we can't really figure out why.

Re: Sheep In Antlion's Clothing question

My nukes do shitty damage because my nukes are shitty . It would be nice to know how much some non-crap rdm nukes can do on Apis though to know what to shoot for.

The way we've been treating Holy Cow is just basically having me there for enfeebles and support, with occasional nukes when we find his magic shield is down. The problem is this can lead to long fights, and Apis has the russian roulette factor since if he lands one hit, Sath is probably toast. Throw this together with the fact I've put too much faith in para2 (36 mp/30-60 sec not really worth it when para1 kicks the shit out of it anyway) and we have our current situation, where I'm usually spending enough mp on this or that, that I can't freely nuke (which doesn't matter much anyway since my nukes blow).

Meanwhile, juxtapose that with Antlion (or brothers, like the wind, etc), where all I'm casting is slow (or sleep/grav, dia, w/e) and I can nuke the crap out of it.
