The only GOTY awards I trust are GameSpot's (to a lesser extent now due to recent events) and IGNs (who actually give a good descript as to why they chose their titles...)...

FFT is one of the best SRPGs ever. That being said, I don't think a re-release should really qualify for a current Award.

How the fuck does Rock Band get nominated for Best Technology? Or even Halo 3? Rock Band is just a compilation of things that other games already did, and Halo 3 is little more than a graphical update from Halo 2. If anything, Assassin's Creed needed to be nominated for more things this year, because honestly, repetitive or not, it never stops being cool, and what, social stealth doesn't count as new technology? Unforgivable....

I wouldn't take this award show seriously, unless it's changed from the first year they did it. I decided not to put up with the pain again, so I've never watched this award show since then. But, in their first year of doing it, it was quite clear that the whole thing was a commercial for companies that paid SpikeTV for awards. I was really quite upset.
