Yeah, I agree, and I think Uncharted has phenomenal graphics too. I'm shocked it wasn't included either.

Portals have been used before, but I'm fairly sure you haven't been able to shoot portals almost anywhere before. Prey has portals too.

That being said it hard to say anything has "breakthrough technology" because I think the only things that would qualify are the wiimote, eye of judgement, or something like that... Video capture and replay is pretty pathetic for "breakthrough."

Narbacular Drop was a school project, it wasn't a commercial game. Besides, the two games were made by the same exact people, so it's not like they ripped the technology off someone else.

Narbacular Drop was a school project, it wasn't a commercial game. Besides, the two games were made by the same exact people, so it's not like they ripped the technology off someone else.

But it does mean that the technology isn't really a breakthrough technology anymore >_> I wasn't dissing it but it's just like saying We <3 Katamari is an innovative idea.

Just because a game is indie doesn't mean it doesn't count rofl.

You're right, I guess they deserve to get no credit for their technology then, even though they are still the ones that came up with it. It's pretty obvious that a school project that hasn't sold a single copy is not going to be included in an award show, so to exclude a game that was made by the same people and actually sold on store shelves simply because they had made what could now be considered a prototype of Portal a few years back seems silly to me. They deserve a chance at an award for the technology they came up with, and Narbacular Drop would never even be considered for an award show.

And We ? Katamari is hardly a comparison, considering it was released after Katamari Damacy, which was a commercial game sold on store shelves. Narbacular Drop was never in stores. It wasn't even allowed to be sold because of the papers they make us sign when we enroll at DigiPen. It has always been, and always will be, a free download from the DigiPen website. I don't see how Portal compares to We ? Katamari at all.
