Well, to be fair, UNC played starters start to finish. UL and WSU are pulling players with 6 minutes left. Lawson or no lawson, UNC needs to be challenged by a good defensive club. WSU has the 2nd (i think) best scoring defense in the nation. This beating up on a weak ass ACC and pounding on the weak tourney isn't proving a whole lot. We know they can score, but they have to defend eventually. They can't allow 50% from the field like they did with arkansas and only get 9 turnovers against teams like Tennesee, WSU, UL, Kansas, Wisconsin, etc. With that said, they are playing extremely well against the competition they are playing, easily the best looking 1 seed and maybe the best looking team in the tournament.

What games are you watching UNC was rotating players the whole time both games to keep them fresh, and at the last 5-6 mins of both games we sent in the bench warmers too..

I'm trying to find a site where i can check stats of the games but not having any luck but i promise starters didn't play more than 30-33 mins. I think the stat was we had like 7 or 8 20min+ people in the arkansas game, and even more in the first game(but thats expected since it was #16).

Why are you so intent on beating on UNC , we are stomping on the competition, Arkansas has like the 4th best shot blocker of all time(only behind people like shaq), yet we steamrolled them. You are trying to point out any flaw you can find most of which aren't there I'm not trying to fight, and I don't want to fight, but whats up

If(when) they blow out washington state will you ease up? I'm not sure what it takes.

You're right. The most minutes for UNC was Hansborough who played 31 minutes. Probably could have been less, but it's not really that much at all especially they'll have the weekdays to rest.

Ty for that, 11/15 people on our team scored in the Arkansas game, and 14/15 scored in the first game(guy that didn't score had 3 assists in the first game, and scored in the second), I'm not sure how you get we play starters start to finish from that.

Hansbrough only played 26 in the first game, everyone else was 22 or under.

I'm not just picking on UNC. I have been equally critical of the ACC in general . I was wrong about the starters, but that doesn't diminish their lack of defense thus far . I'm not picking flaws, even Roy Williams made the comment that they aren't going to win playing weak defense. And arkansas has the second 8) best shot blocker in SEC history, behind shaq . Don't feel like I'm picking on UNC, I've ripped on Memphis, UNC, UCLA, Duke, 8), :D, and . You are the one who cannot pull himself outside of North Carolina and see the other extremely talented teams playing just as well as UNC. I'm not screaming "UL is assuredly getting to the :D elite 8 because Tennessee isn't playing well". You don't get to roll over those 100+ points to the 8) next game.

Edit: If UL had all their players the whole season without injury, they would have went the entire season with 1, maybe 2 losses in the big east, which is infinately greater than going undefeated in the acc. Anywho, my point, injuries happen, overcome them and don't use them as an excuse when trying to justify hypotheticals. It should also be noted that I have UNC beating UL (my alma mater who is playing as equally well as UNC), because I'm not playing homer.

UNC gave up 74 + 77 points to teams that arent exactly that good to be honest. Yea they put up over 100 each time, but still. They gotta start playing some D. I think Washington State is going in very underrated in this game. They have a suffocating defense and can really shoot the 3ball. As a UCLA fan, we almost lost to them in the final 3 minutes when they hit 7 3s in a row >.>

    Re: NCAA Basketball 2007-2008

Was reading the morning paper and saw this little section i found interesting:

Points allowed in the tourny for washington: 40.5
Points scored for UNC in tourny: 110.5

Points allowed per game overall by washington: 56.1(Second nationally)
Points scored overall by UNC: 89.9(second nationally)

Times washington has held opponents to 20 or fewer points in a half: 10
Times UNC has scored 50 or more points in a half: 50

Someone is going to have to give, whichever one is better at their play style, I find the second set of stats most telling, both teams second nationally. Although that makes me wonder who is first nationally in those 2 areas They've been saying UNC is second in scoring all season but never say whos the #1, bugs me.

Anyone know if washington state plays full court press or half court? The *only* teams that gave UNC trouble the year are the ones with full court, like clemson, but clemson can't finish games. UNC will keep running the entire game, they don't get tired. Everything i'm reading in the paper and what not says washington state concentrates on the half court, which will be an issue for them, UNC can get by that easy.

Obviously i'm still picking UNC, I think they can penetrate the defense with lawson, ellington(sp?), green, and ginyard. But i'm trying to be at least somewhat unbiased

Also, since this area is heavy with college basketball interest, theres a lot of stories about it, one is that the slippery court logos wont be used anymore, which is a good thing, those were dangerous.

Another is the stats on the ESPN bracket, only two people out of 3.65 million have chosen the sweet 16 correctly.
233 picked davidson to defeat UCLA in the championship game.
1,950,119 picked connecticut to reach the sweet 16.

The paper can be interesting sometimes I like reading it.

Wisconsin has allowed the fewest points per game with 53.9. Washington St. is second with 56.1

Virginia Military Institute (14-15 record on the year <_<) had the most points per game with 91.3. UNC has 89.9.

If WSU scores 70+, they win. If not, they lose. Just my opinion, oh please don't release the homers on me.

WSU is the slowest team in the whole universe. Big Ten teams are like the Phoenix Suns compared to WSU.

Washington State is holding UNC in their slowed down style. Looks like this will remain a good game if no major half-time changes.

Down 14. Playing from behind is not their strong suit in any fashion.

UNC is playing some damn good D. WSU shooting a poor poor percentage with like, 8 turnovers.

Not sure the D matters though tonight as they are up by 24 with not too long to go. If both UCLA/UNC advance though, this will play well for UCLA as they have just as good D as WSU, but with better athletes.

Also, this Xavier/WVU game is fucking nuts. Go go Xavier.

Oh, you guys meant UNC's D. Yeah, they are playing good, but WSU's offense hasn't always been that great. D:
