Tonight is the first game. Although last year, they allowed us to switch picks and confidence levels around for the first few bowl games, the rules imply it will lock at kickoff of the first game (tonight). Get your picks in now. You might also doublecheck that you have a check mark for every game; last year someone missed a game somehow. Although he called it correctly well beforehand, it still had the potential to screw things up. So here's your disclaimer now: if you miss picking a game, tough shit. Doublecheck your picks now.
We've currently got 28 participants. If you can somehow incorporate your BG name into your team name (unless it's obvious from your last name), that'd be helpful.
douchebags are clogging the site so be warned if you need to do last minute checks.
That was me, there was much QQing on my behalf involved.Originally Posted by Byrd

Woohoo! First place for me! Am I the only one who realized that Navy's coach quit between the final game of the season and the bowl game? Or did everyone else simply not give that transition much importance? Or did everyone forget to move their picks around, seeing as how #1 was the default position?
Looks like we only have one person who forgot to make picks (Colm), but there's a lot of people who didn't change their order much, if at all, judging by the number of people who still have Utah & Navy as their #1 confidence, since that was the default.
And the Utah pick is marked correctly now, it appears.
Did some people pick their confidence values in reverse order? (like confidence of 1 for most confidence)
It just seems strange that some of these games have 20 people picking a team 25+ confidence and then there will be 4-5 people picking the other team at 25+ confidence. Obviously you would expect to see the people that picked the underdog picking them at a single-digit confidence and not super high confidence.
I moved my picks around about 50 times so definitely not me.
Also, we seem to have two Colms anyway so maybe he just forgot to remove the one on the bottom, lol.
I know a least a couple of people make homer picks for the top (Kalika and Archibaldcrane come to mind) pick or two. My best guess as to why underdogs are so high is that I think what people might have done is gone through once, made their picks, maybe made a couple of minor changes (if any), with the mindset to come back and edit later once they saw point spreads or whatever, then simpy forgot to follow-up.Originally Posted by Ryany
I notice a lot of people picking Memphis over FAU, but eh. Go FAU!

This shows who pick whom and for how much, for every entry in the game.
I picked Memphis because I thought they gave Tennessee a tough game, but it was the other team from Tennessee (Vanderbilt) that gave them a tough game. Both teams got blown out by their quality competition so this game is probably a hard one to pick anyway.

Damn didnt realize they lost their coach before the bowl game, oh well 31 more games to go.
