    It's raining out.

Granted, it always rains in the northwest, but those are usually just drizzles and sprinkles. Anyone else having... issues? I saw water spouting out of a concrete wall onto the roadway earlier, and I looked around confused for a second then went "Oh yeah" when I noticed a river behind it. I also spent 2 hours trying to find my way to work, having to backtrack and try other routes a few times whenever I came to a roadblock. When I finally made it, nobody else was there and it turned out they closed the office.

I know there's at least a dozen or so active BG posters from the area, so how bad is it for you guys?

I'm like 20min north of seattle and it is pretty bad, not bad enough to close down streets or offices but getting from my car to my classes is pretty much impossible to do without getting drenched. Granted some people in my classes complained it is much much worse than it was for me, so maybe I just got really lucky with where I live. Snowed this weekend too, I so had my hopes up

Even with an umbrella, or is this that sideways rain?

I'm from the Portland area. It wasn't raining yesterday. Or at least I didn't notice. Today, it's a different story. Not heavy rain, just typical rain for this region. Good ol northwest.

I wish it rained more around here, strange coming from a skateboarder but it gives me an excuse to be lazy I guess and sit down and actually beat a game or study/work on some homework.

Well it rained on Friday lol, THAT'S SOMETHING RIGHT? >.>

Then again, it already started clearing up that afternoon, and by the next morning the skies were clear again.

God I hate living in LA sometimes lol... now it's just cold and dry and your skin cracks up the second you get out of the shower. >.<

IMO anything in the 60s or below. The difference is that I always dress like its summer, winter clothes don't exist so much in LA

What I hate is showering w/ semi hottish water (because of the point above) then step out and having my skin itching really bad. -__________________________________-

A little ways away from here, but:

Just over 3 inches of rain fell in six hours Monday morning at Shelton and Bremerton, Washington, the weather service. That brought Shelton's 30-hour total to 5.72 inches.
70,000 homes, businesses blocked in California, Oregon, Washington
Apparently the weather's acting up all over the coast.

...except in your part of California, I guess.

It was the annoying sideways rain, umbrella would have helped a bit but I'm too lazy to buy one. The more annoying part was the two inch puddles in all the walkways on campus that are impossible to avoid because the walkways are so narrow.

    Re: It's raining out.

East side is getting drenched, too. When I left for work it didn't seem like it was raining a lot, but a I guess with the snow we got, then the increase in temperature, plus what I imagine what must have been a lot of rain over night, there was a hell of a lot of water everywhere. As I was driving down my street, someone had the gate to their backyard open, and a river was basically running out of it. Also, there's a creek with a nice little jogging/walk path next to Union Hill and Avondale road. The path was covered in water, and instead of a little creek there was a churning river. First time I've ever seen the water that high.

Luckily the remodeling which converted my garage into a room was completed weeks ago. I was flooded last December when we had that massive deluge because my driveway slopes down from the street, which is also at the bottom of a hill. Now there's a nice three and a half concrete footer that a wall is built on to. If the water rises that high it'll go around the side of the house instead of through it.

I wish it was raining here, all we got was a foot of snow and fast winds.

I live in the Renton/Newcastle area, and it took me 2 hours to get to UW today. 30 minutes just to get NEAR I-405 from my house (I live like maybe a mile away from the freeway), and an hour just to get to Bellevue, then 30 minutes-ish to cross the 520 bridge. Lovely day.

    Seriously...

And yeah, this week has been running around low 50's-low 60's in LA, which is OKAY if we weren't in the middle of the fucking desert... having that cold air constantly + drynesss = fucking itchy/cracked/dry/whatever you want skin... I hate this time of the year just because of that. If it was RAINING at least then it would've been okay since it wouldn't have been dry.

    God, I don't think it ACTUALLY rained in LA for a couple of days straight for about 3 years now... There was one year (I was a sophomore in high school I think... so that would make it 4 years ago actually) where it rained almost nonestop for like 2-3 weeks and they said it hadn't rained this bad in Los Angeles for like 40 years or something... why can't we have thatttttttttttttttttt. ;;

To anyone who knows MS campus at all - it's actually starting to flood down by the Willows. This morning, there was, no joke, 2 inches of water on the road, and rising. They have Public Works guys outside at the moment sandbagging the sidewalks and trying to drain the road with tankers sucking up as much water as they can - it's not working. It's pretty ugly down here today. Fortunately for me, I love the rain.
