    Campaign suggest to SE

    Having participated in over 30 campaign battles one issue has quickly become an annoyance to myself as well as many people I have talked with. Therefore I'm submitting this proposal to SE as well as BG. Copy/paste if you like for your own submission.

    I'd rather have something more invasive, such as registering at an npc in a nation to receive system-level notifications when a campaign battle starts, and which zone it's occurring in. Also it should send a message when the event is over so people don't waste their time teleporting to the area. It should only send notifications about areas the player has access to, and each nation should have an NPC to register at. Also, if this idea is used, please make it so registering at an NPC is global for all campaign battles, not just for battles happening in regions that the NPC belongs to. This is supposed to be a collaborative effort, so it makes sense that all notifications would be made despite the region the campaign battle is occurring. And lastly, obviously the notifications should only work while the player is in the past, not in the present.

    They just need to make an easy toggle-switch command so we get notified with campaign assaults as they occur. Basically, rip-off WoW's system with regards to enemy raids on towns.

    I was thinking that there should be an object you could buy (with AN) that would announce the start/end of battles to you. It's something we need, and it would be nice to have something to do with the 33K AN I'm sitting on...

    I guess the real question is why we don't receive system-wide notifications like in Conquest and Besieged?

    I am getting annoyed by the times I rush over to the area and campaign is over within 10 seconds. I agree with previous posters that we need a way to monitor better when a campaign battle will begin or end in a particular area.

    Perhaps something similar to the Ballista earing that lets people know when the next ballista will happen. And this would only be used when you are in the Shadowland areas.

    Anyway, what I would like to see is a nice Exclamation Point marker on the /cmap that let's people know that a Campaign Battle is going to start in an area within the next 15 minutes. Even if it is laggy (no "if" there), you will still have plenty of warning to get there.

    That only applies to their respective expansion area though, the WoW system (last I played, which was 4 months ago) worked anywhere regardless of area, and was still a user option.

    when in possession of this item, the player will receive information about the next Ballista match and the entry registration time when entering San d’Oria, Bastok, Windurst, or Jeuno from one day prior to the match (Vana’diel time) until the end of the entry period.
    but it would just say when a battle starts?

    System messages sent in every [S] area (ie Besieged). Problem solved.

    xxx is under attack in [zone]
    xxx is victorious the (attackers) have retreated from [zone]
    xxx was defeated by (attackers) in [zone]

    Either forced on everyone, or optional to sign up for. If they're able to limit it to your nations zones would be better but not necessary.

    #1 Create a problem
    #2 Wait 1-4 years until players accept it wont be solved
    #3 Fix the problem and make it look like a feature.

    Well it's a good thing this expansion takes place 20 years ago, all the problems are fixed now! (ya ya in the present.)

    Damn your devastating logic, Kaylia. I want to BELIEVE!

    Three key items, one for each nation, tells you when that nation is being attacked/attacking, AS IT HAPPENS. Cause man, wide scan is still pretty laggy, I doubt the Campaign map will ever be quick.

    Three key items that you can toggle on and off, so if you want to focus on your nations defense, you can cut the chatter from the other two.

    This is assuming they up the rate again next update, I will cry and cut myself...or maybe just level loldrk... if they don't.

    What happen if it is a Beastmen zone? Should we get a 4th keyitem? I think it would just be better if we could say, just type a command to trigger the campaign announcement on/off, sorta like blockaid and such, and if we choose to have it on, then just have it announce any zone that's campaign is about to start. Or just have a NPC that we can check where is the fight and how long it has been going for, etc.

    While they are at it, can they make teleport to Citadel/Nest/Necropolis? Even if people know that Citadel/Nest/Necropolis is under attack, chances are, if another zone is under attack at the same time, people will go to the easily accessable zone and leave those 3 zones to collapse...

    Could have a sword icon at the OP person too. That would make warping and fighting easier to locate and go to.

    Kind of defeats the purpose. The 3 nations are supposed to be in a "desperate alliance" to aid each other. Not "cut the chatter from the other two."

    I understand why beastmen attacks are random since we don't know what they are planning but there should be a NPC telling you when your nation is going to attack a beastmen controlled area because the attacks should be planned already in your nation.

    Best option for this would probably be a combination of the ballista and besieged notifications. Ballista notification is via a key item and only works when you're in town (though hopefully campaign version would work outside of town), you can return it to the npc you got it it from if you no longer want notification. Combine that with besieged's notifications that are displayed as battle happens and are only be displayed while in aht urghan areas and problem solved.
