followup questions, been playing for a few weeks.

Hi guys, now that i got a hang of the game and leveling up rather fast have some more questions.

    1) Once you go through the pain of raising a chocobo(and it retires?), does it then become a PERM mount you can call (with whistle) at any time. Basically click on whistle and chocobo comes, without worrying about upkeep or maintenance going forward.

    2) Bard song: Sword Madrigal (chance to hit) vs Advancing March (attack speed). Which is better for melee party and why?

    3) Why does everyone run around with a damn 99million love chocolate for sale? I like to see what people vendors (got some nice stuff that way) but it's very annoying to find this item as the only item on 75% of the vendor players.

    4) Currently i am just grinding away at the levels. Are the assault stuff(?) like dynamis, salvage, BCNM etc..only done by people level 70+? Because i dont see anyone doing them at low levels. Am i just missing something, like there is a place you can just signup and join and that's why noone is seeking party for them?

    5) Blond or brunette?

Re: followup questions, been playing for a few weeks.

At lower levels madrigal will be better than march, simply because haste is no good if your melee aren't hitting anything. At 75 march will probably be preferable, but shit is situational.

You can't enter Dynamis before level 65, and Salvage is uncapped making it generally for 75s only. If you shout in town for a BCNM you will most likely get people interested, but most players will ask for members within their linkshell if they are building a BCNM run. Assault can be done at 50, 60 and 70 cap, but most people prefer to go uncapped.

People will generally put signed stuff/presents/rare stuff in their bazaar for max gil to show it off.

    Also. Brunette.

    1) no idea

    2) you'll probably see "shit is situational" as the common response to this. Generally speaking if your melees are well geared, March will win because attack speed effects in this game are uber. The basic idea is that accuracy will become less and less useful the more you stack, but attack speed only gets better and better. However if your melees are having a hard time landing hits, especially on certain evasive mobs or hnm, a madrigal might be fitting.

    3) I can't say that I understand it either because I value my inventory space. Some times people do it to show off rare items, other times the do it for sentimental reasons. I know a guy who has had a ram horn in his bazaar for years.

    4) You can actually start doing a lot of these events early on, but if I were you I wouldn't bother touching them till 75 because its going to slow down your leveling progress. You'll just die a lot and lose exp. In terms of finding groups for these, its all about finding yourself a decent linkshell and forming a network of friends who you can rely on. A lot of stuff that I've been doing in game recently hasn't even been LS oriented, just people that are on my flist wanting to do random stuff.

    5) Brunette, although I don't weigh hair color too heavily in my preferences.

    1) Yes, just need to buy new whistles when charges run out.
    2) Shit's situational, usually madrigal is better while levelling, with march getting better and better, but watch people's hitrate and their food etc. Can always vary over the course of a pt and see how it goes. March can also be helpful if your NIN has problems, or when you have /NIN tanks, to help with recast issues.
    3) That or red roses, or signed lowbie crapgear. They should just allow these people to set a fluffy pink heart next to their icon instead of a bazaar icon. >_>
    4) It's all about the connections really, if you have some people to do them with ,can do BCNM's really soon, same with missions. I used to see some shouts for capped assaults, but notsomuch anymore. Dynamis you can find some shells that let you in at 65 or 70, but salvage and the rest you should really be 75.
    5) Brunette, but not a make or break deal~

1: No clue, Chocobo Mazurka made me never really give a damn about getting my own chicken-horse.

2: Get two bards, have both. If it's either/or, the correct song choice will depend on the evasion of what you're fighting, the food your melees are eating, and the gear they're equipping. High evasion, meat, crap melee gear, or a combination thereof = Madrigal so they can get 100% TP before the next ice age. Low evasion, sushi, good melee gear = March, so you can kill things faster.

3: Because they love that mithra, and it's seriously really 100% a real girl, not another guy playing a girl character!

4: I started doing BCNMs at 40 WHM. Back then, you'd see shout runs forming in Jeuno all the time. Don't know so much now, but there's plenty of BCNMs you can do at level 40, 30, and even 20. Whether they're profitable or not is another question entirely.

    5: Redhead.

I remembered that during that huge inflation period when everyone has millions of gils. Someone put max gil for his osode in bazaar to showoff when the osode can be sell for over 100mil. In next hour, someone bought the osode off his bazaar lol

[1] Yes, but you'll be paying 1k per whistle charge.
[2] At lower levels, you tend not to use march much. It's typicaly minuet/minuet, and madrigal in situations where ACC is horrid. At mid to high levels, the common trend becomes March/Minuet, with madrigal being only in situations where ACC is low.
[3] People bazaar items for max gil for the sake of showing it off, to keep from accidently dropping it, and for sentimental reasons.
[4] You typically wont get too deep into non exp/mission related content until 75ish.
[5] Black women. Big booty + big breast + pretty face + Slim waist.

    1) Yes, after they retire you no longer need to raise their stats or take care of them. You can still race them, play chocobo hot-and-cold, and summon them with whistle.

    2) Accuracy becomes less important as gear becomes more powerful(and merits + stronger food). Haste is extremely popular/potent after you have have good hit-rate and good damage.

    3) You don't want to know.

    4) You need friends who are interested. Unfortunately, people usually don't think for themselves and need someone to get them moving. Well, that's the case with Assault, BCNMs, ENMs, and missions/quests. Dynamis, Salvage, and similar content is end-game only meaning you'll want to hit cap before you look into it.

    5) Bald.
