Servers are up, no updates or anything so looks just like normal maintenance.
Er, just did a campaign and my tags were automatically taken at the end and I was given exp/an. Is this new?

[Affected Period]
Dec. 5, 2007 11:00 (PST)
[Affected Services]
FINAL FANTASY XI
[Important Update Details]
Following changes have been made to the Campaign:
-Headhunting has been implemented and freelancers can now be found in the appropriate areas.
-The length of time NPCs standby before engaging in battle has been reduced.
-The interval of time between Region Information updates has been shortened.
-Campaign battles consisting solely of Allied Forces' NPCs, the results of which were previously not reflected in the Region Information, will now be reflected.
-Campaign battles will now continue until the attacking forces have been annihilated. Should this not occur after one hour (Earth time), the forces will withdraw.
-The NPCs of the Allied Forces have been strengthened.
-The disparity in levels between each army's NPCs has been lessened.
-Player assessments will now be conducted automatically following completion of a Campaign battle.
Should a player be KO'd, assessment will take place immediately upon reviving unless the player leaves the area in which the Campaign battle took place.
-Upon successful completion of the Campaign Ops entitled "Offensive Operations, Smokescreen I - III" or "Defensive Operations, Aegis Scream I - III," the player may receive confirmation by talking to the NPC from whom they undertook the quest, rather than having to speak to a Campaign Arbiter.
*As before, players are still required to speak to a Campaign Arbiter in order to undergo an assessment of their Campaign battle performance.
-Fortifications in areas held by the Beastman Confederate are now capable of being attacked.
-Morale and prosperity ratings totaling zero following a Campaign tally will now be supplemented.
-An issue wherein only the Yagudo Theomilitary's prosperity rating would suffer penalties during Campaign tallies has been addressed.
-An issue wherein the monsters Kyo and Pya summoned by the NPC Lhu Mhakaracca would not disappear under certain circumstances has been addressed.
-When participating in Campaign battles, the following NPCs will no longer attack Campaign-specific monsters:
Gold Badger Esquire / 4th Legionnaire / Piscean Caster / Clan Bear Fighter / Bo'Dho's Shieldwarrior / Divine Pilgrim
Following issues have been addressed:
-An issue wherein multiple-attacks would not cease despite the requirements for the multiple-attack no longer being fulfilled has been addressed for the following monsters:
Tres Duendes / Unstable Cluster / Aries / Mystic Avatar / Luaith / Bloody Daggers / Demonic Rod / Living Staves / Cursed Axe / Magic Shields / Hamadryad / Temenos Ghrah / Goblin Preceptor / Jailer of Prudence / Wabjahl
-An issue wherein the strength of the notorious monsters Roc and Simurgh found in Nyzul Isle was not in keeping with original settings has been addressed.
-Assorted other issues have also been addressed.
Edit: Thwarted by Izzy

I'll try it out in Dynamis tonight for like 4-5 WS's to see. Can't melee in Qufim.
Ok my party got ASSRAPED by Roc in nyzul but I didn't post about it.. . . glad to know my party doesnt just suck. But it was near impossible to hit.
What if the adjustment is that Roc was too weak in Nyzul and they made him harder? You just got played by S-E.Originally Posted by Acorn
If I understand this correctly, is it reasonable for Fortifications to go from 150 > 0 in one battle if no one killing off the attackers? This should be interesting...-Campaign battles will now continue until the attacking forces have been annihilated. Should this not occur after one hour (Earth time), the forces will withdraw.
1 hour campaigns, and can fight the fortifications? Nice.
But I wonder what it means by those NPCs no longer attacking campaign-specific monsters?
Did Simu last nite his evasion was absolutely rediculous. even with double acc songs and food it still was nearly impossible to hit em, was crazy.Originally Posted by Acorn
By assorted issues they better mean:
"Qiqirn Treasure Hunters will now be 100% drop if you are 0/400+ on them or higher".
Or someone is going to die.
Campaign battles will last longer and we'll be updated on their status more frequently.
Also, and this is probably key, in many cases we were not seeing ongoing campaign battles because only NPCs were participating. This caused us to not see some battles, and caused us find out about others long after they had started. Imagine NPCs fighting each other for 10 minutes, then a player zones in for the last 30 seconds and the campaign map reflects this way too late. Now we will see NPC-only battles on the campaign map too.
And speaking of NPCs, it is good to see that they will become involved in the battles more quickly.
Although I signed up for Windurst [S], I still have a soft spot in my heard for Bastok, so as long as they fixed the fucking Quads, I can actually enjoy Grauburg again. Sounds like all of the campaign stuff is made of win.
Yeah it took us 12 minutes to kill Simurgh with 3 stacked warriors and an Aegis/Excal Pld. Even with double madrigals. Couldnt touch the thing.Originally Posted by Acorn
FUCK YEAH! CAMPAIGN!
Much havoc to wreak, yes.
And finally, I can find Maat and sic him on the bad guys. EXPERIENCE THE RDM MAAT-SATION OF HELL, YOU BASTARD YAGUDO.
(A Taru can dream of chain Asuran Fisting the chickens. Yes, and dreams come true.)
But seriously, I hope Bastok gets some help here. Enough Lastok jokes for a while, even if Windurst is better.
Could this be "the one"? *cough*AV*cough* Lol.Assorted other issues have also been addresssed.
Either SE is getting faster with there patches or they really want Campaing to work. Lol. Either way, pretty decent fix.
They didn't fix those clearly broken Quadav, can you believe it?![]()
Some things never change.-An issue wherein certain notorious monsters were beginning to make their way back in to NA prime time has been addressed. Under the current changes NA HNMLS will not fight these notorious monsters for another month at least.
This should totally be a bannable offense at this point it's so god damn annoying.Originally Posted by Luto
