I never did figure out how to beat those invisible mummies in the tomb early on in the game outside of farming money for a lot of those statues that cause an earthquake or whatever. Think I'll go dig up a FAQ for shiggles since I could download the game on my Wii.

There is an invisible part of them that you can hit, like 3 squares on right side of the mummy. So you have to run around, try to not get hit and keep swinging your sword until you find the right spot.
Here is a nice walkthrough if you need it.

Golden Sun shouldn't be here, everyone loved it on GBA

But I gotta add Seiken Densetsu 3 aka (Secret of Mana 3) it never came out in America and but its been fan translated for ZNES. So if you haven't check it out, you all should. Also going to add Shining the Holy Ark and Shining Force 3 for sega saturn because very few people owned one so no one knew about them

Re: Best underrated rpgs you enjoyed to the bitter end...

    um..

    Robotrek (hell yes bitches)
Paper Mario 2 (this was actually respectable and kept my attention somehow, I didn't understand, 'cause I hate them for not doing SMRPG 2/3/4/5/6etc)
Tales of the Abyss (doesn't get enough limelight, partly due to the world map loading time issues [and they ARE that bad])
    Baten Kaitos (1+2)
BoF V (doesn't get enough credit because of it's lack of story)
Dark Cloud 2 (1 sucked so bad, was hard to get people to look at it)
Lufia (1+2 because people somehow forgot they existed.)
<3 my Rockman.EXE games (Mega Man Battle Network for those of you not being true rockman fans)
Wild Arms 2 (story issues, but gameplay is sweeeeeeetttt)
Wild Arms XF (lolllll just look at the topic I made.)
    Legend of Dragoon
Dark Wizard (Sega CD, I bet no one else has played it on this forum)
Treasure Hunter G (SNES, idk if translation was ever finished)

and yeah, Rivieria can go to fucking hell. Linear bullshit nonsense, it's so linear it feels like I'm playing a Rail shooter (light gun game, for those of you not knowing what that is). Radiata Stories can go with it.

yay for long lists 'cause I play too many RPGs. afk playing more XF again.

oh man I remember playing Treasure Hunter G quite a few years ago lol

and yeah the loading in the world map is horrible in TotA, but it's easily avoidable, and fighting in the world map is very unnecessary.

Also, I didn't like Makai Kingdom/Phantom Brave. Lack of tiles and the weird movements were the major problems for me, they just gave me a really big headache every time I tried to play it. (I also thought summoning characters from objects in the field was pretty lame)

The only thing that annoyed me about Makai Kingdom/PB's system was that enemies always bypassed your strongest fighters and went straight for the mages. It was impossible to protect them in some situations/maps. Apart from that, I loved Makai Kingdom, the story, the characters, the music, the bonus events, the attack animations and all that were fucking fantastic. Zetta is easily one of my favourite characters.

and this is part of the reason why I would have liked those games, if the speed of battle was slightly faster, and there wasn't so freaking much to customize, level, tweak, etc.

When there's too much to work with, sometimes it hurts the game rather than helps. =/

Plus that summoning from object shit was lame too. w/e.

Dark Wizard still punishes me. When I started playing it I was like 10 and that game is way too complex for a 10 year old. I still have it though. I wonder if I shouldn't give it another shot.

Tales of Destiny is good shit.
I also like Tales of Eternia quite a bit, but many people don't seem to be with me on that one for whatever reason.

No Tales Games belong in this thread.

Anyhow, US Tales of Eternia release has a god awful Translation. Think the ToD1 did also; but I haven't played it in a much longer time. I like Tales of Eternia.

It's not the Tales series is really all that well-known.
Especially not anything that came out before Symphonia, I'd say they belong.

Vanguard Bandits PS1 (played like FFT but if you didnt choose the correct choices during the game, the main character would turn on you and slaughter your team XD)

    Front Mission series PS1/PS2

Luminous Arc DS (pretty simple but still loved the story)

    Summon Night series GBA

Ar Tonelico PS2 (so much lag for a sprite based game lol)

all i can think of now

Never played Odin Sphere? THAT had impressive slowdown, especially during Odette's fight.
