I think I've picked Miami to win, like, 8 of 12 games so far this year. But hey, I was REALLY damn close about 6 times.

Oh and for the record Steve Smith isn't going anywhere, for many reasons. Trust me on that He and Mr. Richardson are joined at the hip and he is completely coveted by the upper management and the community, long before he was Mr. Pro Bowl Receiver to the rest of America.

I know that falls of deaf ears but meh, I am here in the city and know that him "leaving" due to another persons injury is pure rubbish. I can blame you for wishful thinking though.

The fucking injury fairy has come out to bless the field tonight. See 3 carts on the field, 2 for each starting QB. Guess that's good news for bears fans (although grossman hasnt been playing too bad)! 7-0 skina @ halftime for the less fortunate.

Damn, jealous of you people with NFL network. I wondered wtf you guys were talking about and then realized there's a football game on tonight.

My area has Time Warner cable, and in the last year TW and NFL Network had a big falling out because NFL wanted TW to raise their premiums and pass on the cost to the customer, which TW refused to do. Or something to that extent. It sucks alot for us when NFL puts games on their own network.

I think I pay $7 a month for NFLN and about 20 other stations that come in with that package. That's digital cable, not satellite.

Doesn't matter. Even if I wanted to pay $7 TW won't let me. They're so butthurt over the who fiasco with NFL network they don't carry them, even in a sports package.

NFL issues warning to Newman after strong words for Kitna

    Associated Press

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman has been put on notice by the NFL after indicating his desire for revenge on Detroit quarterback Jon Kitna.

Posted on Newman's locker Thursday was a letter he received from the NFL after making comments about Kitna during a satellite radio interview. Newman refused comment to reporters when he walked through the locker room.

"Be advised that your comments will now compel us to carefully monitor your activities in this weekend's Cowboys-Lions game," read part of the letter signed by Ray Anderson, NFL executive vice president for football operations. "As you know, flagrant fouls may subject a player not only to fines, but to suspension as well. So conduct yourself accordingly."

Kitna threw four touchdown passes in the regular-season finale in Dallas last year to end a 3-13 season for Detroit. In an interview the following week with a radio station in Seattle, where the Cowboys had to go for the playoffs, Kitna called out the Dallas defense, specifically linebacker Bradie James.

The Cowboys (11-1), who have already clinched another playoff spot this season, play at Detroit on Sunday. Kitna's bulletin-board remarks from January have been widely discussed.

While Newman hasn't spoken to local media this week, he issued what amounted to a warning for Kitna during an interview Tuesday on Sirius NFL Radio.

"Basically what it boils down to is you've got to watch what you say. Your mouth can't write checks that your (expletive) can't cash. That's what it comes down to," Newman said. "Everybody's going to see those quotes. He better just hope I don't blitz off the edge, because I've got 15, 25, 30 (thousand dollars), however much it would be for a fine. I've got that much for one fine. Revenge will be sweet definitely."

In the NFL letter to Newman, Anderson wrote those comments were "thoughtless and irresponsible" and "contrary to all the NFL stands for."

On Monday, when the Cowboys returned to practice from a three-day weekend following their victory over Green Bay, James was already talking about facing Kitna and the Lions.

"It has been circled on my calendar the whole year, and here we are and I'm looking forward to it," James said. "Y'all can ask me about Jon Kitna every day from here on out the rest of my life and I will get fired up. ... He talked like we weren't ever going to play them again. We're going to be ready."
    Kitna is going down!

    Re: NFL Week 14 Picks.

The Bears defense once again fails. The offense didn't exactly play spectacular either...but dare I say it...the defense has more issues than the offense does, because it seems the offense can occasionally get in to some kind of rhythm, whereas the defense allows receivers to remain WIDE OPEN.

If there was any bright-side, the running game was shut down by the Bears...Maybe they got tired of the media claiming that Clinton Portis was going to run them over worse than Adrian Peterson did.

What are you talking about, Portis had 86 receiving yards anyway. He still tore up your defense.

Bolded so that you might not ignore it. His statement was about the running game, not the player. 17 carries for 36 yards is not good.

Regardless, yeah the Bears have a lot to work on.

NFL network wants cable companies to pay extra to have them, but not charge customers extra for having it, like any basic cable channel.

In Deejay's defense, about 60 of portis' 80 receiving yards came off a little 1 yard screen pass, So it may as well have been a short pitch. But then again, aside from one big play, Portis didn't do much.

This is true, he was pretty much bottled up with the exception of that screen pass. I think the Bears decided to make Collins beat them; which he proceeded to do.

Man, the Bear defense is slipping. I noticed they are using Archuleta in spot duty now mainly due to his sucking on Pass coverage.... (run coverage and all coverages). They need a healthy Mike Brown, along with a 100% healthy Tommie Harris, I yearn for the Bears defense of last year.

When I read the box score on ESPN I thought Kyle Orton (Go Purdue!) was going to take snaps when Grossman went out, then I saw Greise.

    Re: NFL Week 14 Picks.

When you have a quarterback who hasn't had a multi TD game in 10 years, it's a lot easier to stack 8 in the box making it near impossible to run. Clinton Portis still had a couple nice plays against them. I wouldn't call 130 yards from scrimmage a bad game is all I was saying.
