It turns out that the taru BST can have all 5 pets out at once. Momowa is a bird. Lerren is a Smilodon. Popochu is a whm dhalmel. Papako is a Manticore. Jajaro is a Buffalo.
The other name listed in the dat list "Alfons" I think might be a some new assistant to Ulla, because he is directly after Ulla, and Kilhwch.
me and a friend been tryin to recluit areuhat in leviathan, she takes the pot but she just stays there sayin "I'm just a little tired, is all. I do not require your concern." do i have to trade more potions, different kind of potions or what am i doin wrong? =S
Gaining a freelance take a long time if you're the only one from your nation doing it. The idea is that they're supposed to be recruited by as many people as possible so one guy can't just spam the requirements and get one easily (though people do that anyway. ¬¬)
zone in - trade item to npc - zone out, repeat
you can't trade the same item over and over, each interaction must be separated by a zoning (and no, you can't log out and do it quick that way)
If you talk to the npc before you trade or do the recruiting action, you can't attempt the recruiting action for that zone in
Locations of NPCs in towns:
Windy:
Maat at Hostel
Areuhat on the bridge above the optisery
Sandy:
Dalzakk runs along the east side of the zone (East of the AH till the end)
Ulla and Kilwilch is at the West Gate.

Anyone knows where Babban, the new taru BST Nango would be in the towns? Or the alternate pop locations for them? Combed most of Meriphataud and Karugo for them and can't find them.

Seems Windurst got Azima.... I can safely say with the 40+ or so times our alchemist talked to her she is influenced by anyone who has over 60+ Alchemy who talks to her.
I'll update this once I see more of her in combat.
Cool, that makes sense then. Little annoying they made an NPC only a niche of people can recruit, but oh well. The other text about bribing her was throwing everyone off I guess. Sandy on my server recruited Achtelle this week, going to see if she offers anything interesting. I guess all the main freelance NPCs are found out then. Only ones left would be Alfons, and Ricoh whatever. They are probably just assistant's, the former to Ulla, and the latter I don't know.

Currently, I can't find Azima out in the field of battle. The more I find her outside waiting for a campaign battle she ends up warping away with the rest of the unit that "returns victorious from battle" right before a battle actually starts. Windurst also got Achtelle as well. (along with 7 other freelancers.) Hard to keep track of them all
Windurst on Bahamut also got Azima today also. Would talk to her once or twice a day this week while doing Bastok missions with 73 Alchemy. Caught her for 2 minutes when she was in battle at Fort-KN with 4 other freelances and 3 npc groups, so didn't get to see her do much. Windy also got the red mage guy, Rainemard and Kagetora (sorry Rocl!) today as well for a total of 5. Sandy manged to snag the taru bst and Bastok Areuhat (which sucks cause a few of us from windy spammed her with potions this week).
On the taru bst, has any Windurstian tried to influence her? Whenever I tried she would tell me to basically gtfo cause I was from Windurst.

Finally, leveling alchemy to 99.something wasn't a total waste of my time.
Fortunately, she never moved from the South Gustaberg zone. Even after several campaign battles, she'd pop back in the same spot for me.

I updated the wiki page with as much known info as I can recall. Add to it if you like.

Achtelle's Wyvrem Bravo is fully sized. lol (Sorry for the big blue blur, so many damn giants.)
Ulla doesn't accept Asphodel. Only the Upper Jeuno flowers.
NPC Positions in Windy:
1st Map -
Areuhat - G-8 2nd floor.
Azima - G-9
2nd Map -
Achtelle - H-8
Sandy:
Dalzakk - Runs laps from Campaign Office to End of West Alley
Meaningless, since it has nothing to do with (I think?) recruitment, but some flavorful text nonetheless.

Is what she'll say when you show her Dragon Chronicles. I say it's meaningless since you can repeatedly prompt it without having to zone. There's something else about some prized posession if you try to give it to her; my only guess is Gungnir would prompt it, since I can't get her to say anything with af/af2 or other random drg-only crap I have.
Some Azima info for you guys.
She casts blue magic. Not only that but she casts this:

Are you sure? I'm positive she took the ones i gave her. I pawned off the ones I bought for those goofy Lyco NPC's.Originally Posted by tymora
I see what you meant now, nifty. Some of the NPC's have like, extra messages that seem to deal with story background but don't really affect anything. Like ChoMo says something if you trade her pet food, I should note that on the wiki.Originally Posted by Akanei
Trading Kagetora Zinc Ore also prompts a rather funny response
This kind of explains why her requirements are so exacting, I could easily see her destroying an entire squad if her -gas or BLU AOEs are just as powerful. Also, her ability to use Blue Magic isn't so unexpected, since creating a BLU mage requires both Alchemy and Magic.Originally Posted by Sages
