Freelancer NPCs? Where are you!?

has anyone else seen the new npcs in town yet, they appear and dissapear randomly.

in bastok theres one opposite the metalworks one on the steps near the sword shop and one down by the zone to Bastok Mines.


Not sure if the npc called sonia is new or not but shes near the campain ops.

Just some clarification on Choh Moui. Before yesterday's patch, I took a look around Crawler's Nest. As was stated in the previous thread, there's about 5-6 ??? in the second level of the nest (on your way to the Simurgh exit). First one I check was the one in the scorpion room just by the exit, and yes, it mentioned that I found a chigo (crimson colored chigo or something?). I explored the rest of the nest, and the other ??? were "chunks of crawler flesh."

So I'm guessing we probably keep trading her chigo until she joins.

It sounds like each NPC has some sort of "quest" or item you'll need to complete to get them to join you. Didn't the guy who traded the Testimony to Maat say he kept the Testimony? It would be my guess that each NPC will require several of these items before they join - wouldn't that make it a little fair to all the players to have a shot at recruiting them? Either they join when someone trades, say, the 50th of that item, or once someone trades the 50th item they tally up the "Nation totals" for trades and joins? I'd guess the former myself.

Would recommend checking Choh Moui since the chigo aren't as tough to find as something like a Testimony. Keep loading her up with Chigoes and she if that does anything?

If you go looking for them spend 15mins rechecking the area they appear and dissapear allot lol.

I wasn't aware of them disappearing/reappearing, but I know I saw that Scholar NPC before yesterday's patch. Doesn't really mean much, I suppose, but the other freelance NPCs weren't around before the patch, I believe, so might not be related.

The Windurstian commanders are showing up in town between fights as well- at one point I saw two of them opposite each other near the Windurst [S] homepoint crystal.

The disapperaing/reappearing NPCs are just the Generals returning home and leaving for fights.

I tried to click the ???s for Choi Moui last night and nothing, hit all 6 I found, couldn't find anymore anywhere. Each one just said "There is a rotting piece of Ccrawler flesh here". Choi didn't say much to me either, something like; "hehehehehe, there are lots of tasty treats in the cavern for my babies".

This is going to be a strange question, but did it actually take the money from the trade, and if so, how much? Generally you can over trade an NPC and it will only take the amount that it needs. (Like the ToAU warp NPCs.)

It's OK. That is something that I wouldn't remember unless I set out to intentionally. Just something for people to pay attention to in the future.
