Finally! I've been hopping windy campaign zones since the tally on Sunday trying to see if my attempts for Babben was in vein or not. Good to see I didn't totally waste 4 hours trading waters. Too bad didn't get Ulla from Bastok since those seem to be the easiest two to get. Interesting on the pet also.

ok. so I have been spending the last few days trying to find out information on the freelancers that have not been located yet and have come up emptyhanded. I was wondering if anyone had any more .dat information from the NPCS that might try to help us in some way to find the items needed to recruit these NPCs. Just my theory is whatever item it is, it has to be something you can get an abundance of and/or easy to get. It seems that you have to trade a bunch of said items to influence them so it has to be easy to acquire.

Dalzakk - I spent alot of time with this one. According to a post made on page 3 about his .dat text, some lines seem to be missing. First time i talked to him i got the line

"00521 As you can see, I still have many malms to tread before my training is complete. Perhaps one day our paths will cross again on the fields of battle. Until then, friend."

After that he has the line of "what is a lone galka doing out here blah blah" That line wasnt in that post so im wondering if there could be other lines of text in the .dats that post may have missed. Also, Dalzakk is the apprentice of the other NPC Oggbi. Oggbi has yet to be found in any zone, which makes me believe that these 2 might be a pair. Recruit Dalzakk and Oggbi shows up in the campaign battles. Seems to be the pattern with that list as far as like Choh Moui and her pets as well as Babban Ny Mheillea and his pets. From what lil info i could find on Dalzakk, hes got a home in Bastok Markets. Gwill is the only NPC there and mentions the Crystal War. Contains brief spoilers about the storyline but regardless, gives no relative information about Dalzakk. You even see Dalzakk in the CS from the quest The Return of the Adventurer, but still got nothing from that quest. I tried trading all the items associated with that quest and got nothing. I also tried trading a Quus because hes in the Bubbly Burnie quest. That lady mentions that Dalzakk has info to pop him. I was so hoping it was a Quus or even a steam clock cuz that would be funny shit but i tried a Quus and got nothing lol. Other items i tried were galkan sausage, cocktrace meat, bronze bullets (Gwill hinted this) cash, white belt, various crystals.. all nothing. Im hoping there might be some more hints in the .dat files.

is Dalzakk but i dont think its what he says when you recruit him. It seems that every NPC has some sort of line of text that mentions your nation and so on. Even has one for Kagetora but that line is irrelavent in your quest to recruit him. Ive traded over 100 stars to him and have yet to see the line where he mentions my nation and no one can tell him what to do. I did get the one asking about Ensetsu because i am Bastok but thats it. Has anyone got the line from any npc that knows what nation you are?

I do think the answers lie in the .dats. Kagetora mentions the stars, Ulla mentions the flowers, so others might mention something as a hint to recruit them. Worth a shot i guess.

Any new .dat text regarding the NPCs would be most helpful :D :D

I've tried looking too, but what little there is isn't very helpful. Rainmaird says something like "this is no time for that!" in dats so I tried trading him a fishing rod and/or with a lure, and hatchets but he took neither. Also tried a rdm sandorian sword he didn't take.

Okay, Dalzaak is here in Grauberg hanging out before a campaign battle with a green name, along with 4 other bastokan legions and Ulla+Kilhwch. Considering Kilhwch is out as a "pet" of Ulla's, and I dont see Oggbi out here for Dalzaak, so he's not paired unless Dalzakk can summon Oggbi durring the fight. I'm going to hangout here and see if he has any WS text that gives anything away, and possibly track him down in Bastok after.

and use used One-Inch Punch, and the battle was over. Oggbi didnt appear.

In Bastok he stans across from the Metalworks, roughly mirroring Sturm the Scholar.
His text in town, first click: "As you can see, I still have many malms to tread before my training is complete. Perhaps one day our paths will cross again on the fields of battle. Until then, friend."
After that he repeats: "I have rested long enough. It is time for me to make my master proud."
Speaking to him as MNK got this first line: "The best training comes when lives are at stake. That is why my journies often take me to the plains of war."
After that he parrots the same line as before. I have no idea who got him for Bastok, but I hope this hopes somehow.

I know theres a JP site out there that has a list of some things the NPCs say. Even has some for Oggbi but babel fish translation doesnt help much to it. Some of it i can relate to what it says but others have no idea. ill try to find a link to the site real quick.

It looks like to recruit him, you have to talk to him on MNK (probably the 40+ times like you have to trade to others).

I tried looking for Rainemard the other day, but goddamn jugner sucks. The moment a campaign ends, not 15 seconds later, it starts again.

I single-handedly farmed 9 testimonies every day for 6 days, and traded them to Maat. Adding in 17 testimonies from the week before, Maat has 73 testimonies worth of influence from Bastok from me.

The old fuck is still in Sarutabaruta.

So i went out there to talk to Dalzakk on my MNK1/BLM1 and the very first line i got was

Second line was just the "What is a lone galka...."

So to recruit this guy, i guess all you have to do is talk to him on mnk lol
