There are two lizzies with two separate spawn areas and two separate PHs. One spawns on the top of the hill, the other spawns on the bottom side. That is why you can get two Lizzy up within a pop cycle (which would never occur on a single NM - ie VE). There are quite a few "double NM" types, mostly near Bastok (Stinging Sophie for one).

Yup, thats why I said he would grab the two PH's, and I'd grab everything else, then he'd kill his, and a minute or two later I'd kill mine.

Wait 3 and a half minutes or so, next thing that pops is either Lizzy or the PH.

Fun fact: while the two PHs will always spawn on their respective "sides" of the big rock in the middle of LL's area, the Leaping Lizzy that is produced from a given PH does not have to spawn on the same side. (ie: the Lizzy PH west of the rock can spawn Lizzy east of the rock, and vice versa)

Also knew that, we'd stay where we could cover both sides rapidly, got something like 20 Lizzies in a row that we camped, total of 28 before I quit.

Does anyone have a hard answer for this? I know killing will work for sure, but I'm wondering if simply depopping a mob will "change the job" so to speak. I'm leveling BLM now and I've never seen the depop method work personally, but I've never tried it more than two or three times in a row, and I've seen a mob pop as the same job over and over again even when killing it, so that is rather inconclusive. I only ask so I can save myself hours of headache tonight, pulling + elemental sealing + sleeping + logging out, if it's not going to work. (I'm not going to warp home, change to RDM, and run all the way back to the Rime Gigas camp in Beaucedine just so I can have some idiot kill the Rime Gigas once it pops as I'm on my way back on BLM.)

Sorry for the fact that this post is full of run-on sentences, my brain is fried, posting from work ftw.

Masan and Wurr are not mutually exclusive, I've gotten both within 30 minutes before.

    Re: Mob Job Spawning

I know for a fact that you can link the mob, run and lose aggro, and then have it despawn/repop as the wrong mob, so I would assume you aren't wasting time trying to despawn > repop the correct one.

I've had several times where me and my duo bud got the camp ruined because of despawning the Gigas/Goblin.

Was nice when I was doing Thf, and later when he was.

If we got the mob, we'd pop 2hr and log, and between utsu, and eva, it worked every time, and prevented the depop :D.

Alright, good to know that someone has gotten despawning to work, thanks.

Either I am ridiculously unlucky or this guy is wrong. Just wasted almost half an hour trying to change a Fomor NIN to DRK in Aqueducts.

As far as I know, Fomor jobs are completely static. Each individual Fomor type mob in the game has a specific job and, when killed or depopped, will only repop as that job... ever. It makes hunting lv.50 subligars easier in the sense that you always know where to go for the job you're after, but harder in the sense that there will be the only one pop ever you can reliably kill without links/aggro because no other Fomor will pop as the job you're after. I've done a whole lot of Fomor hunting in my days, soloing on BST in Aqueducts every 1.5 hours, usually. But I guess this thread isn't quite about Fomors specifially, they might be a special case vs beastmen.

Wrong. At least, in Aqueducts, most RNG & THF share spawns. Others too, but I can't remember specifics at the moment.

    Re: Mob Job Spawning

Yeah, there's a THF/RNG shared spawn in the room that a lot of people camp, and around the pit just north of it is a DRK/NIN pop that's easy to solo.

    Re: Mob Job Spawning

A good general rule that works pretty well for me is that mobs will always spawn as the same job in Promathia areas, while they will be a random job in non-Promathia areas. Obviously there are exceptions like the fomor jobs that were mentioned but for basic pet hunting for BLM exp, it's been a pretty solid rule to follow.

Eh, maybe in places like Bibiki Bay.. Which I can't even remember. Lufaise & Misareaux gigas have random jobs, I know that from dumbasses killing BST gigas I try to level off of.

Attohwa Chasm gobs also have multiple jobs, and if I recall correctly, so do Pso'Xja gobs.

The catch here is there are fixed spawns.

Yhoator will always have a pathfinder at that one spot.

    Bibiki will have one.

Beauc will always have a couple of pathies but they're in bad spots, so you gotta use Gigas mostly, which can and will repop as different jobs.

Luf/Mis are infuriatingly random because it seems like the Gigas share a set number of jobs in a certain area, so if a Bst is up in an inconvenient spot, you have to kill it, AND the one near your camp, otherwise you'll just have the one Bst up max.

Lower Delkfutts is an example of that, the Hippolytus room can only ever have 1 Bst, but the room just outside can have 2, for a total of three in that area. (which is awesome btw, til someone comes by and murders them for 120 gil a piece/to pop Hippo)
