Same damage with difference of 5 elemental skill is inconclusive. It could be like Bio dot.

The test of whether Dark Arts would enhance damage supported the idea that skill doesn't enhance damage, though I don't recall what my skill was at the time with Dark Arts active, so it may still not have been enough to bump damage up a tier, if applicable.

Modus Veritas also has a 10 minute recast, not that great for a spell you would want up most of the time that only lasts about 1-1.5mins before MV.

I am yet to see a Helix in game, but does each "tick" of damage show up in the log? And that said, if it does, does each tick give the mob TP separately?

No, it's just a normal DOT with longer ticks, as far as I've been able to tell. My wife gets Geohelix in 6 levels and I'll be doing some testing (hopefully with some more conclusive answers than what's been reported thus far).
