This movie could either be really good or really bad. Looking at some of those screen shots make it like really corney; I hope it comes out to be really corney (rather than a real serious film), it could be pretty good then.

almost like Grindhouse corny? that's what made those two movies funny/decent, Tarantino and Rodriguez just cheesed the living crap out of it. i can see how Speed Racer could be a decent if it didnt take itself all that seriously but made it look like it did.

Goodman doesnt look too bad as his father, however Ricci? I dont think ive really seen her since Casper, damn she didnt age very well :/

I think many obscure films and film makers in general hope for this to happen. Cult success is better than no success I suppose. Alot of times it is a way to break even if not surpass the original budget.

To echo what alot of people before me have said. I too think that if they do "corney" it up (for the lack of a better word atm) they will have moderately more success than if they come out trying to make it a dead on, serious film. That is what made Snakes on a plane an anticipated movie. They did not take themselves too seriously, this would bode well for this movie as well imo.
