be serious here, if there was some 'hack in the servers' hundreds of accounts would be ransacked per day, and many of the known rich people would of been hacked already.
If you got hacked, you either A) gave your info to someone you didnt know or not too good friends with in RL or B) downloaded malware.
In either case, you screwed up.
You dont just get 'Randomly hacked' without SOME form of information leadering the hacker to your user/pass.
When SE comes out and says 'we got hacked, sorry you lost your accounts', then ill say I was wrong.
Yes SE's ways of helping customers in getting their accounts back after being stolen is fucking idiotic and retarded and should be changed, but that doesnt change the fact its the users fault they got hacked.

On another note, I "discussed" with SE technical support for almost 2 hours that day why they wouldn't help me. I say "discussed" as in each time I hit a dead end I asked for the next higher up in management. I didn't get far up the chain, but the third guy I talked to I had told him that the answers I was getting were completely unacceptable and I was not going to stand for it. I said furthermore I am a paying customer, youre business is built on serving those who pay you and I fealt that therefore I should be valued a little more than the rmt that stole my account. I told him that I would be notifying the Better business bureau of my transactions with this company and would be seeking legal course of action for some sort of compensation for my 4 years of waste (I have played ffxi since the day it hit US stores). Lastly I said that word of mouth is still one of the biggest forms of marketing and that I would utilize it to make sure my friends and family never bought SE and anything from its parent company again. After that I hung up.
I realize that legal action will yield nothing but it must of worked in some fashion because yesterday afternoon I got a call from Square-Enix regarding my account. I was told that my account password had been reset and the person responsible was "no longer able to play ffxi with the account they had registered."
Even better news, when I logged back in, all my items except my gil were intact..... so I only lost a whole 26k gil lol, well that and they 30k sitting in my deliv box...... guess this rmt was too retarded too steal my items first.....
Why they won't help people without a very irrational arguement is beyond me. If you ask me, this wasn't worth my time and I am VERY seriously considering quitting anyway.
