Item Appraisal from Assault (Any tricks?)

I was thinking about this just last night. My assault static has been doing four assault runs per week pretty much since the beginning. In all that time, we've only had two ???s become "good" stuff (assault-only, rare/ex things).

I think it all comes down to luck, and we have some really, really bad luck.

Honestly, it's best to just think of assaults as never ever dropping anything nice. We went from PFC to Captain and only got once semi nice appraisal. It was still junk; it was just the nicest ra/ex junk ever reported from the BC we did.

nyzul appraise is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HIGHERRRRRRRRRRRRR than assault appraise

whenever i get a ??? item from a good NM, im always getting rdy to cast lot

i got trotter boots and valis bow 1/1 from simurgh and the shadow NM

also appraised a peacock amulet with random JP grp which i lost lot w

as for normal assault, i was grinding lebros walls way back and only got 1 storm loop out of 19 trips, got a volunteer's scythe from whichever assault 1/1 and then 0/872136837216 on omicorn ring

the only item i look forward in regular assault is ??? box which has high chance of soulflayer staff

i dont understand why make nyzul appraise so much higher, like 25%, while regular assaults are 99% garbage

My group has gotten 2 Vali's Bows, 2 Kung Fu Shoes, 2 Bounding Boots, and some other worthless real item drops all off the appraiser in Whitegate. I would love to hear from SE whether or not the appraiser in Nashmau has a better percentage to give the actual item. It doesn't make sense to put an appraiser all the way out in Nashmau, but this is SE.

Has anyone even gotten a ??? Gloves from Defuse the Threat? My lv 49 PLD is waiting for those gloves to continue leveling, and we've always only gotten Necklaces or boxes.

I accidently got omicron ring. I didn't even know what dropped from that area just forgot to appraise it in my static assault. Then appraised it in an exp pt made my friend QM me right away. I was the only melee in the static too so they didn't mind too much ;3

want a tip on how to get the rare appraisal? spam that one assault over and over. oh and click on the NPC at an odd time on the game clock, like kirins teleporter duh!

Yeah, we got the Ice Gloves or w/e from it.

Right now, we're probably at 1 of those, 1 Eta earring, 4 (or 5?) Sigma Earrings, 3 Theta Sash, mainly because we trio that one for easy points. And several others I haven't kept track of.

I need to make my Assault static spam Operation: Black Pearl though =/ I want a Lambda Sash.

was doing assault everyday for 7 times salvage a week

just started nyzul not long ago and for me, the appraise rate is definately much higher 25% for my own records lol

being said 7/7 assault way before i start nyzul, 1% appraise for assault is just right

Having done hundreds of regular Assaults and hundreds of Nyzul floors, I believe the drop rate is about even. If anything, it's worse in Nyzul Isle. You've been extremely lucky.

We've been averaging 3 Nyzul runs a week since they came out, and have gotten exactly three Nyzul appraisals to be the actual drop. Only one of those (Ungur Boomerang) was actually worth anything.

As Uzor said before, my group has also gotten ??? Gloves -- Ice Gauntlets out of Defuse the Threat. The hilarious part is that we got it on our first Defuse the Threat run. So that makes us... 1/80 or so. I wish I were exaggerating. We haven't done it in a few months, gonna have to try again once my static finally finishes captain.

My Nyzul group has 2 discs(was 3, but 1 got accidently erased) saved at Floor 96, lol I think we've only gotten 2x Serket Ring, Bloodbead Ring, and some THF subligar(bravo's? IT WAS GREEN!!) that I forgot the name of >.>;;

No real trick with this, the item u get is determined from the moment u open the chest, if you ever tried to the NPC the diff ??? items you'll notice they sell for different prices.

You can't sell ??? items to NPCs, you can only bazaar them.

got mist silk cape and a bomb core in about 1 year of nyzul assaults. we don't farm normal floors for nms but i i think the appraisal rate is beyond crap.

Anyone doing those RvB runs a lot notice getting the `good´ drop more often?

For some odd reason Ive seen most of the ´good´ crap drops come from RvB then other assaults. With that I mean I get a crap load of Soulflayer Staves as opposed to a Tsurara (toolbag) that I get from other assaults. Its strange but the only difference I can think of is because its a higher tier (SL) assault and you finish it real fast in around 2 minutes tops.
